Short hike to this unique tree in north Cochrane. Worth a visit!

I feel like it's weird that google wants me to review a tree. Should I say "all bark no bite"? Strong silent type? This place really understands its roots? Anyway, still feel weird about reviewing a tree, but it's cool, and part of a nice walk.

Majestic White spruce tree which is supposed to be 300yo. As an owner of tree company (Silver Fern Tree Service) can't stop admire this beautiful piece of nature.

Wonderful place to feel and become connected with the energy of the land, the flowing brook and the trees and plants surrounding you. Grandfather Tree is believed to be a 300 plus year old pine, and if you look closely you’ll find an ear within its bark to whisper your prayers and intentions to.

Like an enchanted forest. Definitely slippery in some spots and muddy in others so wear some good boots, but so much beauty to see and great for beginners.

It's a tree. Has a bit more charisma than the other ones next to it. 3 stars for it's added charisma and the nice park where it's located. Don't expect any Lord of The Rings kinda tree though.

A bit underwhelming and easy to miss along the trail. We passed by it as we were walking and had to trek back since we missed it. It is located a bit uphill from the main trail. It was super muddy so prob better to go when its drier during summertime.

The Grandfather Tree is beautiful. Great experience, especially with children. {Bit of a climb if you want to touch the tree itself, but all fun and doable.) ((When walking towards the Grandfather Tree, just before you reach it, you'll come across a small opening with a wooden deck set up, right beside the creak. It's a great place to stop at before the Tree, either to sit and relax and simply gaze at the relaxing water for a short moment-- orrrr, if you're anything like my family, it's the perfect spot to cool off from the hot sun. ? )) Highly suggest going for this walk. It took us about 15-20 minutes from the parking lot in Cochrane beside Highway 1A, [or Bowvalley Trail Highway, or whatever it's called], to walk to the Grandfather Tree! **Just remember to bring water and maybe prep with bug spray, though that surprisingly was Not a problem for us during our visit. ALSO, maybe a tiny med kit of some sort, in case you trip over some tree roots or something.** ([Side Note: In case it matters to any of you, I am Always seeing people biking through this trail. Not sure how they do it, as there are some questionable places to bike through, but it must be possible because there is always a bike or two coming through here when I visit.]) ?
