★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was invited to have brunch in this restaurant, since I was told that Carmen and Max served Venezuelan typical delicatessen. My friend was not wrong, I really enjoyed the food and the connection with my gastronomical roots. My friend recommended the Cachapas balls (Gluten free) and Patacon de Platano (also gluten free); both were delicious and well presented. You will need to use your hand to eat these dishes in order to really enjoyed. I will return for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing food with great service by the owners. Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients and you can tell.
The sourdough bread it's not only beautiful but also delicious! We tried the burger and it's easily on our top 5 favorites in Calgary. I loved the green plantain sandwich, so flavourful and huge portion. Just writing this makes me want to have another one right now.
And ask for the ham & bacon filled bread called "cachitos" it's to die for! Or the mini corn empanadas which you can also take home frozen to cook later.
Definitely a new hidden gem in town ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the pleasure of dining at this tiny, off the beaten path restaurant and the food and owners are amazing. Carmine & Max run this little restaurant as an add-on to their empanada production facility. Carmine is Venezuelan and Max is Swiss-German and their talents together left me wanting to come back again and again. If you time your visit correctly (on Friday’s) you can also buy a loaf of their incredible sourdough bread that they make for various other food establishments around town. We had a 1/2 party platter which came with a variety of empanadas and tequeños (cheese sticks), we also shared a Patacon sandwich. They were incredibly delicious. The owners are treat to talk to. Can’t wait to come back next week with a new group of friends so they can taste it for themselves.
