★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Gold Tiger Karate Dojo offers a balance between learning the traditional kata forms of the Okinawan Goju-ryu style and learning practical sparring and self-defense techniques. I have been training as part of the Gold Tiger Karate Dojo for a few years now and I have enjoyed every lesson. I highly recommend this dojo as a place to learn how to appreciate the art of karate and learn how to better your character.

I have been lucky to be a student of Niten Ichi Ryu since 2017, and Shane Walters Sensei has been there to help every step of the way. The direct contact with high level instructors in Japan is also a great experience for any lover of [Japanese] martial arts!

Since I've started training with Shane-sensei, I developed a stronger sense of self-discipline and balance. I am truly grateful for the reserved yet impactful tutelage that promotes independence and growth.
As Shane-sensei represents few of the North American Goju Ryu instructors who are close in ties with the native Okinawan masters, direct transmission and a preservation of tradition helps to mold the authenticity of the curriculum. As the Okinawans are well known for their longevity, the art taught at this dojo is one of self-preservation and communal cultivation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter (now 7) has been part of Gold Tiger Karate for 2+ years. She has learned a lot, and enjoys the classes. The head instructor/director (Shane) is passionate, an expert, and an EXCELLENT instructor. For kids, he strikes the perfect balance between discipline and patience. Highly recommend.

As a mother, I like the attention that is given to each child and how mistakes are corrected thus improving technique. I have also noticed that karate has improved my daughter's coordination and ability to follow instructions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have studied Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu with Shane Walters sensei since 2017. Shane sensei is an excellent teacher. He is remarkably patient and always direct. The group studying Niten is friendly and a solid group all around. I am grateful for the opportunity to study this ancient art and plan on doing so for years to come.
