If you β€œan insurance customer” like supporting a company that takes care of their staff when they need their help, let Group Medical Services take care of you. Great organization. Great people. A formula that creates a great work environment. Thank you GMS. Thank you for looking after my wife. You really are an outstanding organization. ?

Great knowledge and friendly staff. I love GMS than any other health insurance. I have asthma since birth and GMS is the only one that accepts my pre-existing condition. Very affordable price as well even if you chose the Omni plan plus the enhanced drug. The downside is you have to pay from your pocket right away for the cost for most services but you will get your money back guarantee by claim.

My mother is a senior has been a customer of theirs for many many years. We upgraded her coverage this year and are paying over $2000 in premiums. I started submitting claims about 3 months ago. GMS put us through the run around 3 times. First they denied claims based on date (I guess there must be a waiting period). Next submission they declined because she was not signed up for provincial pharmacare plan. You'd think they would tell you that when you sign up, or perhaps on the first submission. So we signed up for the provincial plan and she has effectively 0$ in coverage from that as we expected. We submitted the required info to GMS. The GMS policy was up for renewal so we held off on paying waiting for our claims to be resolved. Now we resubmit claims and hear nothing. When I call in, and do the "on hold thing" about 5 times, the agent tells me they are denying our latest submission because our policy expired more than 30 days ago. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he put me on hold again and then said I would get a call back in 1-3 business days. A further development. GMS customer service got back to me fairly quickly after my review. All claims were processed fairly in the subsequent weeks, and we have renewed Mom's coverage.

I got medical insurance for my mother who is on visitor visa. Unfortunately we have to make a claim as she had a fall. Initially they told me insurance company will co -ordinate directly with the hospital( false reassurance) which they never did. I received a bill 6 weeks after the hospital visit and I am on hold with the number they gave me for over 2 hours for literally 2-3 days in a row. After 2 hours, the call automatically gets disconnected. Super frustrating. Still waiting for hospital bill to be paid. Side note: Please educate your insurance agents, give misleading information and trap you in their stupid policies.

I had travel insurance with GMS for my mom visitor visa. It says emergency coverage with pre-excisiting medical issue. My mom dignose as breast cancer here in Canada. They rejected her treatment in Canada during COVID time. She had sent back to China. Also, all the check ups in Canada is not claimable! They told me it is not unexpected emergency treatment. What a joke! Am I expecting my mom to have cancer? Am I expecting all these check ups? None of the check up is repeating check up. Why can not I claim? I wrote complaint letter to GMS. They just forward to Allianz. Allianz just keep giving me redicious reason try to reject my claim. If anyone is looking for an insurance for your loved one. GMS is the last choice. They only willing to take your money. Not allow you to claim for anything! Also, my mom already been sent back on Jan 24th, 2021. I got nothing back until now. They not even cover the flight ticket, and covid test is a must before you get on to the flight. They told me that is not emergency, so not cover. I would let you know it is not emergency for the test. BUT THIS IS A MUST NEED FOR GET ON TO THE FLIGHT! 5523427is my case number. Really dont know how this company can get those fake 5 star reviews.

I would not recommend going with any form of insurance from this company, Our business used them and had many problems. Claims were not properly paid out, with claims being paid at zero or next to nothing. We ended up going with another company, and we sent in claims before our company switched providers. they denied claims and would not reprocess the claims, even though it was within 30 days of the denied claims.

Claims are not paid out - they will always find a reason why not to. The reason given was that they don't recognize the organization my practitioner is registered with while not being able to provide an organization that they do recognize. My practitioner is not registered in my province (BC) because it is not possible, thus he's registered in Ontario. Customer service unpleasant, almost rude. I regret committing to this company for a year.
