Global Hybrid Batteries

I would have bought a replacement vehicle before I'd pay what the dealership wanted to replace the battery on my 2005 Prius. I was skeptical when Global Hybrid quoted me a much lower price, but I thought it was worth taking a chance. I'm so glad I did! My car is back to normal, still working great a few hundred km after the work. The cherry on top was that the friendly technician came to me and did the work in my garage! Highly recommended.

I am super happy I found this place! My uncle gave me his 2007 Toyota Camry and after a year of using it, the battery had died and the dealership informed me that it would cost me almost 5k to replace it or I could trade it in for only a couple hundred. I did not think it was worth spending 5k on or only getting a few hundred from trading it in. However, the Toyota dealership had actually mentioned this place briefly and so I researched it and its the best decision I made. I emailed them inquiring info and they were amazing and responded within minutes. Ben answered every single question I had for months before I finally decided to have him replace my battery! I spent 1k on the battery, rather than the 5k Toyota wanted me to spend. They also provide warranty on the batteries they provide which is great. He made sure the dashboard lights were gone and let me drive it around to make sure everything was good before he left! He drove from Mississauga to Ajax and replaced the battery in less than an hour and I couldn't be happier! Such a nice guy and amazing service.

My Camry started displaying replace Hybrid battery on the dash. After either disconnecting the 12 volt battery for about 10 minutes, and then re-connecting, the error dash lights would clear. Alternatively, I used a low end OBD2 reader to reset the POA080 error while I was driving. I used this method for a number of months and pondered whether to sell the car. However, one day I was driving about 80 km / hr and without warning the engine quit. Fortunately the power steering and brakes continued to work. This started happening about 3 times per week at any speed, without warning and it was getting to be dangerous, so decided to get it fixed right away. I discovered Global on the internet. I spoke with the owner late in the afternoon. Even though they were busy he was able to accommodate me the following day. I live a long way from Global so I stayed there while the technician worked on my car. In well under 2 hours he removed my pack and replaced it with a rebuilt one. He was very efficient, neat and tidy. All panels and components were reinstalled correctly. When I drove the Camry for the first time it was like a brand new car. It started easily and without any strange noises. The dashboard was clear of all errors and the power output was fully restored. Last but not least my combined city / highway gas mileage returned to 6.0. I have been driving it for a week now and it is still perfect. I would highly recommend Global in all respects and I would use them again without hesitation. Finally they did the work at the advertised price, and included is a written guarantee. I am very satisfied and in hindsight should have had it fixed months ago using Global Hybrid Batteries.

So I am a skeptic usually. The dealership said it would cost 4000$ parts and labour to replace the hybrid battery in my 2006 Toyota Prius with 220km on it. Literally more than the car was worth. Naturally I looked for an alternative. I found Global hybrid battery on Kijiji. I had heard of them prior to buying the vehicle two years ago as they are the only after market supplier of hybrid batteries in Ontario that I know of or have heard of since. I am a skeptic though. So I went through the reviews, I actually emailed a client (that gave an excellent review via email to me) and it made me more fearful because I just couldn't believe that for 1400$ I could get a better warranty (by 20000km) than the dealership. Then I spoke with Ben and he said he could do the repair in my laneway, again I was skeptical and again I was thinking this is too good to be true. It isn't. It's real. I almost walked away because I couldn't accept the fact that it could be done so easily and economically. It is that easy it turns out. It's literally changing a battery. Something we have all done on occasion but not to this degree yet still it's just a battery. The dealership inspired no confidence telling me 'they never change them' but we will be fine doing yours...for 4000$. One dealership couldn't even come up with an estimate because they had literally NEVER changed one. When I finally decided I had no choice but to go with the aftermarket I got to meet Ben. He drove all the way from Mississauga to Ottawa on a Saturday to replace my battery in my laneway. The repair took 40 min or so, definitely under an hour (the dealership claimed it would require 7 hours thereby upping the costs by a third) and he made it look easy...because it is for him. He has obviously done it hundreds of times. I have pictures if you want to see him doing the job. My car went from being a piece of scrap to a fully loaded Prius again in 40 min with about as much drama as it takes to replace the battery in a regular car. In fact I am sure I have personally spent more time changing a regular battery than Ben spent replacing the hybrid battery pack in my Prius. That was three months ago and my Prius is still running perfectly. Even better than it did in some respects as the old hybrid battery had clearly been losing capacity for some time. I recommend Global Hybrid Battery. Talk to them before the dealership as I spent 150$ on a diagnostic Ben would have included in the price. You don't need the dealership you need Ben. Ben at global Hybrid Batteries in Mississauga. (He worked for Toyota for a time) Even if you need to wait a few days ( I was 4 days before I could meet Ben) for the battery to arrive you will save thousands and are getting a technician that has actually done the job. I hopped in my car the minute Ben was done drove an hour to my cottage at highway speeds just to be sure the car was gonna last. It ran like new. Still is. I told Ben he can give my number to any prospective client if they want to chat. I waited until now to do the review because I wanted to be able to say my car is still running great and It is. Simply amazing. After the battery on my Gen 2 Prius died I was on the hunt for a replacement and found these guys. Called them, the gentleman on the phone was fantastic. I do have to warn you though, the shop is a bit hidden and hard to find and when you get there it looks a bit disorganized. Having said that, I have to say that they services they provide are fairly priced and it’s been over 3 months since my replacement and absolutely no issues with my battery.

Amazing work by Ben and very competitive price replacing my Prius Hybrid battery. Toyota dealership wanted over $2900+ for parts only. Ben had everything working for less than half of that.Hybrid battery works like new now. Highly recommended. Update: it has been over 2-3 months and over 5k KM now and the hybrid battery is holding up really great. Still no issues whatsoever. No check engine light or any hybrid battery codes. 2nd update: over 9k KM on the hybrid battery now and still going great. No issues whatsoever.

I respect these guys so much for providing such a valuable service at such an affordable price. They helped me with my Prius. Very honest and professional. Battery seems to work great and I'll update of anything changes.
