Gillmore's Feed Barn

I have been frequenting this location for the past year, sourcing feed from here after sourcing previously from another local establishment. I did particularly appreciate "organic" feed offerings but was still in search of a feed higher in protein. On several visits I have expressed my needs and was constantly assured a call back (none ever came). I did explain up until my most recent visit that I would continue to come in and buy the Organic Turkey Starter (Dodds & Erwin) until a more protein rich feed could be sourced. I advised the gentleman behind the counter that I obviously relied on this feed year round and bought for two other friends as well. When I bought my last bag in October of this year I reminded the employee of my situation and he advised two bags would be ordered and be available for my next visit. I was repeatedly assured several times over the summer up until October this feed would be kept on the shelf. BIG SURPRISE! It wasn't... I understand businesses are busy and things get sold but that was not the issue. I was told "It's not the season for Turkeys, so I don't keep it in...". Respectfully, I was assured up an down the feed would be kept in and available all year round. To suddenly be chastised as if an oblivious and guileless alien, being educated as if the first time that December isn't ideal to hatch out Turkeys, as if I had somehow made a mistake in my expectation that the feed I was assured would be in stock isn't. This is more than likely a communication issue, however my expectation of an established business which essentially serves as middle man/distributor for what is a local feed is way off the mark. I was able to call the manufacture directly have my feed set aside and pick it up directly at the mill saving me some money with only a bit more driving, driving which was obviously wasted on my most recent visit to Gilmore's Feed Barn.

Great new location and lots of selection. I buy the organic feed for our farm and Danny always provides excellent customer service. His attention to detail when ordering feed is appreciated. I support local businesses every chance I get- happy to have Gilmore’s so close by! Keep up the good work!

I love them!! The staff is always so helpful and kind. We get all our chicken and duck feed here as well as Guinea pig food and bird seeds. I also really like the new location. Clean and well organized and the staff always carry out my order.

Wonderful staff and amazing customer service. They have dog food, cat food, birds feeding, etc... Now they have raw food! A local shop, not an American chain and prices are great. My favorite place.

I love supporting local privately owned businesses, and this one didn't disappoint. Product: I got the best prices for bird seed and the largest sizes available in the region. The quality looks good: having striped sunflower seeds is great! Service: my wife phoned our order ahead and I literally pulled into the place 5 minutes before closing. My order was waiting for me by the door. After I paid, the young woman brought my orde to my truck, as I have recently injured my shoulder and carrying heavy bags like these hurts it. Product + price + service = I'll be back for more, and I'll be recommending this place to my friends and strangers like you reading this review. ?

Friendly staff and always helpful when I go in for feed. I wish they would carry my other feed. But I can understand they’re already out of room to add more.. hopefully they’re able to expand in the future! :)
