About Get Cooking
Reclaim Urban Farm grows quality greens and veggies in the heart of Edmonton. Farmers Ryan and Cathy are passionate about good food and good soil, so they turn empty back and front yards, garden spaces, and vacant lots in the Whyte Avenue area into beautiful and productive places to grow food. They use low impact gardening practices, fertilizing with compost and mostly watering with stored rain. In exchange for land, Reclaim offers landowners a weekly box of seasonal produce. They also sell seasonal salad mixes and unique varieties of greens, radishes, beets, carrots, and squash to local restaurants, markets, and chefs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just took the Pot Stickers class with Mai and Get Cooking. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Great presentation by Mai and the class moved along at a speed I could easily keep up with. Best of all, the end result tasted great. I have taken several classes from Get Cooking and with each class they just improve and get better and better. This class I can now review the video of the class. Great to use when I want to make the recipe again. Easily recommend to anyone that will listen to take a class and see for yourself.

It was clear that she put a lot of effort into finding high quality ingredients at different stores and markets. We had a mix of vegetarians and meat eaters in our group and everyone really enjoyed their food!

Ahead of the event, they went out of their way to suggest vegan and gluten-free options tailored to the needs of our group. Communication was excellent throughout the booking process, the class itself was top-notch in how it was run and in the quality of instruction, and the recipes—and results!—were outstanding, delicious, and easy to follow. Well done across the board!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the pleasure of taking a Get Cooking online class through my work. Our department participated as a team building event and I must say, it was one of my favourite events I've done!
I had never previously taken any cooking classes, let alone online, so I was a little bit concerns. However, Kathryn, Mai and the team made the class easy, fluid, and fun!
Between the constant communication, great camera angles for viewing, documents sent to prep for the class, and assistance during the class I don't think it could have gone any better.
10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to taking a cooking class, or host a team member event. This could even be a great idea for a birthday part, bachelorette shower etc during these unusual time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my first virtual class in Get Cooking, and the experience could not have been better. the host was very nice and the Chef super professional and fun. The steps to prepare the dishes were very clear and went at a good pace, with the Chef and host constantly checking that no one was left behind. The final result was a wonderful dinner. I plan to go back and learn more about cooking.
