George Brown College - Casa Loma Campus - C Building

It's extremely disappointing to find out that George Brown puts a limit on student enrolment based on Nationality. The course I want to apply for is open for other nationalities but closed for Indians because they have reached the max. limit of Indian students that can apply. I'd now rather apply to a college that doesn't discriminate like this!!!

I studied there for 2 years. Generally, it's a good campus. It has parking areas around but a bit expensive. You also can beside the street. It has 2 food courts that don't have too many choices, but it's not bad (Pizza Pizza, Tim Horton's, Subway, Pizza Nova etc.). It's 5 mins walking to the subway. A big library and too many computers. It also has a big silent area to study. Medium gym size.

Did my ConEd with GBC to upgrade my nursing profession in Canada. The pandemic worked well in my favor because I did all my courses online (except of course the placement), in my own time. Most professors were understanding and very helpful. I did all my research through the GBC Library. I love the idea of chatting with a library staff when I needed help relating to the library stuff. All the library staff I encountered were very nice, very helpful, and very friendly in professional way. I'm so glad I did my courses with GBC.

Sadly , I regret learning at George Brown College For many reasons. Firstly, the Instructors are very rude , non cooperative, and are zero efficiency when it comes to explaining. Second, the college is financially wise focused rather than quality focused! Third , there is lack of resource.

The school really needs to work on fixing or switching systems, when you switch into a different class it can take up to 5 business days to actually be placed into the class. When you switch two classes, this can become a complete challenge. I’ve contacted blackboard technical support and they said there is nothing they can do. We have been using blackboard for a long time since the pandemic started this should not be a problem. The teachers are hit and miss. There are some teachers that are great, they like to teach they come to class on time are engaging, make learning the material relatable to what you will be dealing with outside of the class room and provide recorded lessons from the class for some students that need to go back and learn or some students who prefer to learn on their own time. -There are teachers that will go over the midterm, quizzes, and do practice quizzes in class to prepare you for the real one so you know where you need to study and improve. Then there are others that just seem so uninterested in teaching students and do the bare minimum with providing pre recorded videos on YouTube, material from the year prior without changing any of the dates and a email incase you have any questions on the content. Then there are those teachers who don’t care and couldn’t be bothered to teach in the the (time they have been assigned). The teachers have been on strike 2017, now they are on work to rule 2021this is unacceptable for a student that are paying for an “education” currently lack of education and worse if you are a international student. I would not recommend George Brown College if you interested in business studies. Their Esthetics program is well taught and I have heard many positive things about their cooking program.

Your Millwright program is horrible. Picking up teachers last minute who know nothing about the program and aren't prepared at all was my day 1 experience. Using very old teachers who are too slow to keep up and should be retired. Curriculum that hasn't been updated in over 25 years. And why is your school open for business but the cafe is not? All vending machines empty - I can't even buy a drink. Unacceptable. I also had to buy a new computer because we weren't properly informed ahead of time the requirements to run AutoCAD. This is my final term, thankfully I don't have to come back. Horrible experience, go somewhere else if you can.

This so called "college" is basically an immigration center for south asians where rich parent put their kids for an opportunity to move to Canada in the easiest way. No real knowledge here. Very few professors are interested in teaching and some of them know nothing about the subject they teach. Everything is inclined in just creating an image that you learn something while in fact you end up in a huge group of student where no one is interested in getting real knowledge. You will be able to pass all tests with ease even by doing nothing as no one is interested in what you actually get here.

My girlfriend attends this school, and I have to say, as a University student myself, more than half of her "professors" over the last 2 years do not know how to properly write or make clear instructions when handing out assignments. They have done the worst job out of any school I've seen making online school easy for their students. Their faculty don't listen to complaints directly from students, and when they require students to come in person for a condensed version of a course, they are unorganized and seemingly put no thought into how it needs to be run. Overall, I would not recommend anybody attend this college. The level of education provided is low, and the care for their students is horrendous.
