Won't sell to public,,,and all the companies installing these products are stupidly expensive....not worth it!

This company has perfected quality and excellence. They only build the best luxury homes, it is clearly visible when you walk into their office on Argyle Ave, Ottawa.

I recently moved to Westview a new Gemstone community and have be absolutely delighted with all the improvements they are making. New roof, new fuse boxes, landscaping and daily cleaning of common areas! Can't say enough good things about my property manager, hes a great guy and fantastic at his job!

I currently live beside a Gemstone development in the Westboro area. Let me be clear. If you are a neighbor and you see a Gemstone development sign go up. RUN. Sell your house and move because the construction work will be a nightmare on your life for however long they are working there. The construction next door to me has been going on for nearly a year now. Here are the highlights and summaries of some of the negligent activities I have noticed: - Over excavating the property, then asking us to move our cars off our driveway as there was a risk of a cave-in to our driveway -Consistently parking in a way that makes it unsafe and impossible to safely leave our driveway. On occasion they have parked in front of our driveway, blocking us in (albeit they did move the vehicle when asked). - Some workers left car tread marks on our lawn. -Using our property as an access point to the construction site without receiving our consent to do (trespassing) -Throughout COVID, I rarely observed contractors following mask wearing protocols on site -Sawing as soon as legally possible (7am) till 5pm, which although it is legal, it sure will cause residents headaches especially when it goes on for a month straight. -Dust and debris would fly everywhere. We had to put tarps over our plants to protect them and it made going outside to enjoy the sun impossible, unless you like inhaling particulate matter and tasting dust. -Corporate failed to provide any form of a response to our emails detailing these complaints. As a reference, there was another construction company (Cartesian Homes) that was building in tandem beside Gemstone. Personally, I did not see any of the issues I saw with Gemstone which is what makes me believe it is a company issue rather than a complaint with construction in general. These are just a few of the things I can point to after living beside a Gemstone development for a year. Seriously, if you see one of these signs go up. Sell your home. It'll be less of a hassle than putting up with them for a year. If you are thinking about using Gemstone as a developer. Don't.

I've lived in the Gemstone owned and managed building The Doral on Albert Street since July 2016 and I have to say my experience has been great. It's an older building with its own idiosyncrasies but the less than a handful of times I've experienced an issue management has been very quick to respond and deal with the situation. The common areas are well maintained and clean. Whenever there's been a building wide issue such as street construction or Covid-19 related information, the management has been quick to communicate and if action was required by the tenant a plan was put together quickly while respecting my personal and professional commitments. There's laundry on site and dishwashers in each unit. In terms of location, there's a well stocked convenience store across the street, light rail around the corner and a dog park (it's a pet friendly building) behind the building. Nothing negative about my experience as a tenant.

My experience with management has always been amazing. I would highly recommend there services.

Update (3 stars) : 16 Dec 2018 (1 week later). Thank you for the reply. I've updated this review to better reflect the ethical, professional and methological manner of this company. The developer have spent much time planning and developing our beautiful area in a collaborative and respectful manner. I'm quite gratefull and trust they will continue and build some beautiful homes that not only match our neighbourhood but make it look even better. Previous review (Edited) (1 Star): This company is developing a property at 1003 Prince of Wales. After first giving them a chance via phone last month and then sending them an email, witnessing the indirect damages they did to my neighbour shed, I haven't received a reply and their original verbal communication was adversarial. I would be carefull dealing with this company and legalizee parlance. P.s.: No real big issues with how the construction workers are comming along, but management and ownership's lack of complacency to acknowledge reception of an email gave this company a poor review and should leaves you wondering how they will treat you when or if you ever need to deal with them and the potential legal issues of buying a home. In this case it's simply releveling a shed when all the work is done, so that the neighour can open her shed door. They've buldozed up and down and dug down 12+ feet to put a pipe and all of this is only 2 feet away from the shed - shifting the ground. Any company that gives you the slightest bit of a hard time for something this obvious is a company to be weary about.
