Gauchos are the cowboys of South America – a national symbol of pride and tradition. The residents of Rio Grande do Sul, a Brazilian state, are affectionately referred to as “Gauchos”. This state, renowned for its unique churrasco barbecue, is the birthplace of Chef Edmilson Rodrigues. It is there, in Brazil’s top barbecue houses, that Ede learned and perfected his craft.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a lunch there today. It's our first time eating there so we were a bit confused about the dishes in the beginning. Thalia was very patient to introduce the menu to us and brought small samples for us to try. She is amazing! All the chefs are friendly. The meat was cooked very well, especially the crust skin of the pork, so delicious. The sides and salad were well made and presented. My daughter was happy about her juice and fries. It's a wonderful lunch. We will definitely come again!

The waitress we had was incredible, I asked for my Ceasar salad to not have bacon and they remembered not to put it on in later orders, and that rarely happens for me. My only complaint is the price, because I can't come close to eating 60$ worth of meat, maybe only 20-30$ personally. This is an excellent place to eat for any occasion, I hope everyone enjoys it just as much as me and my family do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue is a restaurant that specializes in meat dishes. They mainly serve all you can eat meat. Servers will bring large skewers of meat to your table and ask if you would like a cut. Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue serves a variety of meat. Such as, beef, sirloin, chicken thighs, chicken wings, sausage and more.
Paired with the meat is an all you can eat side and salad bar. Due to covid, you must order these through the waiters / waitresses.
Even though there is a variety of meat, the meal left a lot to be desired. A majority of the beef were dry. Making it a battle to constantly chew. The lamb was good in texture but had a slight order when eaten. The chicken was juicy and tender. Probably the highlight of the meats. Some of the meats were bland and some of them were too salty. Making the combinations of flavors inconsistent. The meats are also served with a side of hot sauce and Pico da galo (almost like a salsa).
There are many sides and salads. The presentation for each side item was beautiful. In many ways the sides tasted better. The mash potatoes were a great consistency and soft to the touch. The stir-fried mushrooms were nice and soft. There could of been a little more shrimp in some of the sides, but you can always order more.
In comparison to other Brazilian Barbecues this place is expensive. They charge a decent amount more, while having a smaller variety. The service is average and they will occasionally forget your orders. However, the staff are friendly and are happy to help.
Overall, Gaucho Brazilian Barbecue might be fun to go to once. However, it would be difficult to justify coming back here again without any adjustments made.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The experience at Gaucho was amazing. From the welcome at the front desk, to the introduction from our server Martina, to the delivery of the meats throughout the meal. Each and every staff member there was wonderful.
We went with a small group for my boyfriend's birthday (January 1) and they made it very special. Offering a complimentary dessert, serving it with a sparkler, and as our table began singing Happy Birthday, the entire restaurant joined in.
I would HIGHLY recommend trying Gaucho as the unlimited meats are so tender and delicious, and the selection of sides are amazing.
The cocktails were so tasty as well!
I could continue on but just wanted to say thank you to Martina and the Gaucho Staff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just had the most amazing family dinner with the best food, service and atmosphere! The drinks were amazing as was every dish we tried. I even enjoyed the chicken hearts:). A great place for a special occasion or just a get together with friends. The BEST Brazilian BBQ in Alberta and the BEST restaurant for gathering.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible food and wonderful service. I have severe allergies and the chef, Daniel, went above and beyond to make sure I was fed and well taken care of.
Geiza, our server, was incredibly attentive and friendly. She was great and making sure we always had what we needed and fantastic at communicating with us and the kitchen. The people with the meat service dishes circulated consistently and there was never much waiting in between.
Definitely the best Brazilian Steakhouse experience in Calgary. We will definitely be back for more family celebrations in the future.
