Gatzke Orchard

My fiance and I were interested in booking a day to come visit the venue with Deb and she was not accommodating and very dismissive! When we asked about available dates to come see the venue she provided us with a list and when we picked one of the dates that she provided she then told us "no that is no longer available, sorry", not even offering us an alternative date i.e. suggesting other dates on her list that ARE available and could work. She was very dismissive and just seemed as though she did not want our business. We then consistently followed up with her to try and make this work and would be met with the same "not available come back later" type responses. We then called Gatzke to ask to speak with her. The front desk woman was of ZERO help and responded with "Um...she's not in and I don't know when she will be in again." This was on two different occasions. We finally spoke to a manager as we were fed up and got a lady named Sheryl (or Shirley). We told her how unhappy we were with the lack of service and how unaccommodating Deb had been so far to us potential new clients. Her response to us was "Well it is the end of the year and Deb is probably just worn out." ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? This is the person that may handle and coordinate our entire wedding!? I get that your job is busy and it's stressful but this is your business and a year round one at that. If you're too tired and worn out to accommodate new clients then have someone else handle it or hire on another person. We shouldn't have to work around how your wedding coordinator is feeling on a given day. This manager (Sheryl or Shirley) also did not offer up any solutions for us or didn't even offer to have someone else there show us the venue herself. She just said she would let Deb know of our complaints and was also very dismissive to us. I would 100% NOT recommend this place based on the customer service and would be very nervous to have a staff like this host our wedding, or anyone else's for that matter. Very disappointing as the venue itself looks gorgeous and we were very excited to go see it.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE!!! My dear friend booked her wedding at this venue, and after months of them counting on this place, they just cancelled with zero explanation. The people working here could not have been more unprofessional if they tried. This is a major milestone for my friends lives and after months of planning, it’s all in the air becuase of these awful people. Shame on you Gatzke Orchard!

Had the pleasure of meeting with Deb (multiple dates in 2019) planning our wedding for September 2020, was able to meet us on three occassions (off season, rainy day, Short notice) whenever we were able to travel to the okanagan and could not wait for our special day. We all know what happened next a world wide pandemic broke out leaving a bunch of plans up in the air with no one knowing what would come next. After hearing many horror stories of other couples receiving little or no help and compassion from other venues, it was a welcome relief to chat to Deb and the owners of the farm who issued us a complete refund after we informed them we did not want to postpone to 2021 (which they offered) and were looking at creating a much smaller wedding ceremony elsewhere. This helped take a lot of stress off of us and we can not wait to go back and visit, Gatzke will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thanks deb and Gatzke team, stay safe and see you soon

My best friend booked her wedding for next year and just had it cancelled with no explanation. Obviously, these people do not care or get any joy hosting weddings at their venue and are only in it for the money. Please do not book your wedding here and risk the heartbreak my friend and her fiance are experiencing. Shame on you Gatzke Orchard!

Came here a few years ago for a wedding and it was a positively fairy tale-esque venue. That brought us back this trip for a visit, however when you’re not going for an event there isn’t much to do besides just shop the store. Still, the fruit is fresh and juicy, and the baking & honey available is superb. Just plan your visit as a store and not activity.

Love this place ❤ love the feel and the vibe takes me back to my cherry picking days in the 90s in Oliver bc ...old barn type vibe. great looking berries ,early ? cherries bought some strawberries that were amazing gone by the time I got home but the true star of the show were the COOKIES ....OMG i got the lemon snowflakes best cookies I've ever eaten my entire life obviously made by a master in the way of baking I plan on getting all of there flavors a couple of mentions are snickerdoodle and ginger snaps lots more ....I'm a " foody" also a papered chef I know food sure the cookies are 6.50 for 6.... trust me if you want high end Artisan then stop what your doing right now and for the love of God get some of these cookies....also on a side note the packaging and label and the unique varieties make excellent gifts ??...I will be back tomorrow

This is such a great farmers market / lunch and icecream place. We stopped for icecream and I had salted caramel ice cream. My new favorite.

This place is a great place - for locals and for tourists. It's old-fashioned, and that's the extreme beauty of this place. What a wonderful organization to do business with. What a charm!
