R	Rani Troxel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am not impressed by the service my husband and I received from Lona at Gatsby mortgages. We went to Lona mid-July because we wanted to purchase a condominium. The first meeting with Lona was great however, she does not communicate the status of your mortgage with you. We are still waiting for her to get back to us on the different interest rates and which banks can offer mortgages for less than 75K. For someone who works with mortgages daily and considers themselves a mortgage broker, I find it hard to believe she did not know which bank/ institutions can offer loans under 75K. Not only has she wasted our time, but she has wasted the sellers time and the lawyers time. I had to keep pushing the condition removal date in hopes of waiting to hear from her. Luckily, I was able to get in touch with RBC mortgages and was able to purchase the condo with no problems. We would have appreciated if she would have the decency to inform us that she can’t provide a mortgage for us regardless of the reason. Please do not use her if you are interested in purchasing a home and I would not recommend her to anybody.

Lona made us feel so comfortable talking about finances and truly cared about our home buying experience as a whole. Lona is a guru in all aspects of mortgage shopping! However I found her to be very uncommunicative, and would not respond to any of my emails or the emails of my realtor. She wasted my time, caused me alot of unecessary stress, and she put in very little effort and ultimately failed in trying to get me approved for a mortgage. I had to find someone else on short notice. The other mortgage broker I found was wonderful, very friendly and informative and was able to get me approved 2 days before my subjects were removed....no thanks to Lona. I do not recommend Lona at all.
