With a growing population and demographic changes over the last decade, GSS is becoming a hub for IB, Arts and Athletics. The trade programs are extensive and run extremely well. Administration and teachers are creating meaningful and inclusive environments for students of all learning abilities. The older, outdated reviews here do not represent the current home of the REBELS!
I	Isabella Garay on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Possibly THE WORST high school in Maple Ridge, besides Westview of course. The teachers are rude, unhelpful, and don't know what they're teaching. The environment is full of drama, and drugs. I went here from grades 8-9 and eventually transferred. The school itself looks like a prison, and is in a terrible, sketchy location. DO NOT enroll your children in this school. They're way better off somewhere else.
L	Lynden Jensen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went here a year for my 10 grade (mid 2000's). It was fine if you don't care about academics (which I didn't at the time). I didn't like the teachers, some where unreasonable and the better ones just didn't care about you (there my chemistry prof was actually really good). The facilities are not great and everyone seemed to be doing drugs. People tried to sell drugs to me all the time on busses and even in the bathroom. I was fine with it when I went there, but in retrospect it was not a good academic environment at all.

The experience you have will (like ANY other high-school) depend on who you surround yourself with. If you are a student who wants to make the absolute best high school experience possible, participating in programs that you love and have a passion for, Garibaldi is the school for you. With outstanding programs and teachers who are consistently willing to give you the support needed if you ask. Garibaldi offers much more than a traditional high school and accommodates a multitude of learning styles. 5/5 GO REBELS!

Don’t forget this is public school; school managed by which offers education for all round student (basically every one can get in to public school). There are LOTS of good students, couple of bad ones but it really depend on which environment you choose to surround with which will affects your determination of the school. I’m taking IB so I’m surrounded with hard working students that have the same goal in their education, I’m also have a lot of good folks from bc curriculum as well.
