Very serious communication & customer service issues at this location. We booked an appointment, then apparently our optometrist’s schedule changed. No one bothered to call us to reschedule. We showed up and they put us with another optometrist an hour later. No apologies. Staff didn’t seem to believe that we actually had booked an appointment. One even said that we should have known there was no appointment because we didn’t receive a reminder call. Seriously?!? We should just β€œknow” that an appointment we made a month prior was canceled and not rescheduled??? Then they ordered wrong contacts on file. We discovered they were incorrect two months later. Attempted to order new ones through Vic Square location, which is our home clinic. Request was sent back to Northgate. Three weeks later, we were still waiting. Discovered today that Northgate didn’t bother to re-order them. Thankfully Lisa at Vic Square got it straightened out today. She is awesome! I have been an FYI customer for 25 years. The optometrists are great. But this location has ridiculously bad customer service. I’d never return.

Dr Roettger is an amazing optometrist and I'd highly recommend her. I don't care to purchase my glasses from them as thier customer service isn't that great in my opinion. What they say they will do and what they actually do seem to be two different things.

Abby helped me pick out two pairs of glasses and I am very happy with both! The other staff members also helped with their opinions and made my glasses purchasing experience easy!

The staff was wonderful, Chantel helped me pick the perfect glasses. The office was really clean and had the best choices of glasses.

After cataract surgery on both eyes recommended by Dr. Giesbrecht, I rec'd my new lenses today and like the song by Johnny Nash "I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW". I am very pleased with the thorough eye exam by Dr. Giesbrecht and the professional and personal service of the staff. Can't thank enough.

Dr. K. Lindskog: 10/10 Knowledgeable, professional, and sociable! Took the time to explain everything and gave answers to my questions in a way I could understand. Staff: 10/10 Friendly and patient! For the first time, direct billing was a breeze for me. The pretest was quick, but they still managed to get a ton of information. ---------- Being raised in a mid-sized city in Ontario, I have to admit that I've never had a good experience seeing an optometrist before. It makes me glad that this changed when I saw Dr. Lindskog on Saturday at FYi. I came in at 9am to get a general eye test, and to ask if I was a potential candidate for laser eye surgery. Walking in, I was happy to see that the staff at the office were taking covid seriously even now. Plenty of signs asking patients to wear a mask, divided pathways, and a notice that everyone in the clinic is vaccinated. When I checked in for the appointment, they took my insurance card and returned it when I left after doing direct billing. This is the first time that direct billing worked for me, but I'm not shocked that it worked here: The staff worked quickly and professionally. And they were very friendly: They cleaned my glasses even though I didn't buy anything. I also have to give them credit for using my preferred name and pronouncing it right. Pretesting was thorough, and the pretesters matched the professionalism and friendliness of the receptionists. I was impressed at how quickly the pretest went by. They have some advanced looking machinery here, so I was in the second waiting room pretty soon after I got called in for the pretest. Dr. Lindskog did a thorough examination of my eyes and vision. I never felt like I understood what was happening in an optometrists office before. But Dr. Lindskog took the time to explain what was going on, and I appreciate that. At the end of the examination, I got the opportunity to ask a lot of questions about my results, and about the laser surgery process. Most importantly though, Dr. Lindskog let me know when a question reached the edge of her scope and told me who would be the best person to ask for an answer. That was an important signal to me that I had found a good doctor. My normal experience with optometrists was to have my questions waved away or ignored or told to not worry about it. The fact that Dr. Lindskog not only took the time to explain the examination and my results to me, but also told me when she was unable to answer a specific question reveals the high standard that she holds herself to. I didn't feel like I was just being heard, I felt like I was being listened to and taken seriously. I look forward to booking again in the future (Hopefully the near future if my consult with the surgeons goes well)!
