About FWBA Architects
Medicine Hat inherited its name from the native word "saamis" which means medicine man's hat. A legend of famine and hardship for the Blackfoot nation tell the story of how this city was named. Located in the beautiful South Saskatchewan River Valley, residents enjoy the beauty and peace of the coulees and rolling prairie which boasts many species of wildlife.
FWBA Architects has served Medicine Hat for more than six years and a few years ago established a storefront office in the 1911 heritage building known as the Hutchinson Block in the city’s historic downtown. The open, active studio also serves as an artist exhibition space, participating in Medicine Hat Artwalk as the ‘Horse at the Door’ Gallery.
Our intention to be active participants in a vibrant downtown is a hallmark of FWBA Architects’ commitment to Medicine Hat. This puts into action our belief in being active community supporters who remain connected to the creative energy of the city.
