Friendly Fires Fireplaces & BBQs Cobourg

I had a great experience with them initially when I had them come out to do a repair. The technician was polite and informative. In mid September I was told they are booking into the New Year for service and that my fireplace was considered unsafe to use. Since then I've emailed and left numerous phone messages to schedule that follow up and they have not answered at all. I understand they're busy as they have the market cornered in the area but I'm also a business owner and I can't imagine not replying to a customer who's been trying to reach me for literally months.

They really know their stuff! I went in with no idea what went into this process, but the kind sales lady, Hailey, was very patient with me and my (many) questions. The following weeks everything went smoothly and with no surprises. HIGHLY recommend you check them out

I have to say what a pleasure it is to deal with the Cobourg team of FF. Dan went out of his way to understand an issue I was having with an older insert. They identified an additional issue when they came to my home and Jason went out of his way to find a resolution. The installation of my remote went smoothly. I just await a part for the other issue and I have no doubt they will continue to impress me with their service. Over the years I have dealt with other FF folks and I have always felt confident in their knowledge. I trust them and that in my view is the best anyone can say of a business.

My wife Ann and I recently moved to Cobourg a few months ago. We own a mid-century bungalow which we are excited to put our mark on and make our own. One of the things we dreamed about for many years is a nice gas fireplace, so after only being here for two weeks, we went to Friendly Fires on King Street, right downtown, to get things in motion quickly, especially given the supply chain issues Canada-wide through all the Covid 19 situation. Hayley Doyle gave us a thorough introduction to gas fireplaces, demonstrated several models in the showroom, and then us walked us through all the technical and aesthetic options possible with the units we liked. She has a broad knowledge base, and explains it easily and personably. It was easy to settle on one that was perfect for us. Especially since Friendly Fires has such a broad range of fireplace options to choose from. Installers Jamie and Bobby did the initial install and set it up precisely according to code and the extensive documentation in the manual. We were delighted to work with them, they were very friendly and patient in briefing us on what they were going to do before getting to work, going over some options that we could choose for our particular setup. They installed the fireplace unit and hooked it all up smoothly and efficiently, then spent time with us to walk us through how to operate it, and recommended certain settings and a follow-up maintenance schedule. We were most impressed by their knowledge base, they know their stuff. A super smooth, no-prob install. We had a carpenter in to do the framing surround for the fireplace, and he was well briefed by the detailed documentation of the fireplace unit manual, with specific critical sections highlighted by FF manager Dan, who was in fact a rep for the fireplace manufacturer before joining FF. His knowledge of fireplaces and their installation is encyclopedic and vast. We found Friendly Fires' people work extremely well with a range of contractors. They directed our carpenter and electrician to execute the install to point-by-point perfection. Henry and Derek did the final setup and testing, and at the end of the day, our fireplace was up and running. The surround has shaped up beautifully, looks great, and is 100% fire-safety compliant due to Dan's diligence in thoroughly briefing the carpenter. It's a stunningly beautiful fireplace, with elegant proportions, and a set of super-realistic log and stone accessories inside. So relaxing to sit in front of and savour. Friendly Fires is highly recommended! We're delighted.

Kieth and Russ were the installers and they did an excellent job. Covered the floors and carpets with drop sheets worked very hard to make sure it was done right. When they left it was as clean as it was before they got there. The whole team was good. Thomas and Haily and I believe Dan? Sorry. Not to mention the fireplace is MADE IN CANADA. Well done.

We recently had our Supreme Novo 18 wood stove installed and we couldn’t be happier. Everyone was was a pleasure to work with. Hayley and Dan were extremely helpful with finding the best model for our needs and with Jason’s help, found the best placement for the stove. Bobby and Jamie did a wonderfully thoughtful job with the actual installation. They were clean and went out of their way to make sure that everything looked great!

Glad we choose Friendly Fires when we needed to replace our old gas fire. Hayley's serivce in the store was superb and The process of inspection and installation was a pleasant experience. The installers were Hery Penyk and Jason Hucaluk. They went the extra mile to carefully plan and execute a rather tricky installation of the pipe. They managed to get it done without any damage to the ceiling. We were super happy with that and with their great attitude and friendly disposition. A job well done!!. We are totally with our new Envireo Westwood stove. It's beautiful!! Thanks guys.
