I can not say enough good things about this place. The introductory classes are 5 for $25. That's 2 private lessons, 2 "parties" and 1 group. The parties are the best part, newbies and experienced dancers all together and the experienced dancers are happy to go at a newbies speed. Regular classes are great as well, they're pricey but worth it in my opinion. The teachers don't rush and take the time to make sure you know the steps and teach you the terminology of dance. Again, I have nothing but good things to say about Fred Astaire in Hamilton!!

My husband and I are enjoying the dance lessons and the instructors are amazing! They are very professional and it is worth every penny. We have joined about 2 years ago and we can't wait for our lesson every week.

Anna is always encouraging and motivating in our dance lessons! She is so positive and takes away any hesitations I have in dancing. I have become more confident with my abilities, thank you Anna & the team!

My fiance and I took dance classes with Anna at Fred Astaire in Hamilton in just a few short weeks she was able to teach us how to dance for our wedding.

I boo every time I drive by. Lessons get more expensive as you progress, but if you progress quickly then you can't learn new moves in your lessons - you have to spend time 'polishing' what you've already learned. For some lessons we were not able to work with the instructor that we had built a rapport with for some reason. Then when it's time to talk about additional lessons there are high-pressure sales tactics. Years after taking a number of lessons here, my wife and I had a chance to take dance lessons with an individual who was an actual dancer. The experience was night and day. Looking back at what we learned with Fred Astaire it was rigid and awkward. In our later experience the instructor was able to provide so much more value in each lesson and the result was clearly better. The teachers at Fred Astaire are often trained how to dance for the job, but may not have been dancers before they were hired. Save your money for an instructor that isn't limited by the Fred Astaire franchise. Edit: Reponse to Owner - My lessons at Fred Astaire were over 10 years ago and may have been under my wife's name. My issue with the increasing cost of the lessons is that the increase was paired with high-pressure sales (where a you have to make a decision about further lessons right away or the 'deal' is not available later) and that you cannot progress faster if you are able. If you learn all the moves for your level, you have to spend the rest of your lessons 'polishing' the moves. Does not seem fair that I have to pay for lessons where nothing new is learned. Also the introductory special is not 5 individual lessons. When I did it, it was 2 shortened individual/couple lessons, 2 group lessons and one 'party', which hardly counts as a lesson. Again, your money is better spent elsewhere.

I started coming here with the intention of facing my biggest fear, dancing. I expected to just do a few classes and then stop, but the Fred Astaire family was so warm and welcoming that I didn't want it to end. I've been dancing for over a year now and each lesson is the highlight of my week. Fred Astaire has taught me more than just how to dance. It has been good for me as person by helping me stay active, increasing my confidence and pushing my limits, improving my balance and rhythm, and keeping me socially connected over the past year of lockdowns. It's also a great way for couples to learn and grow together. Thank you!

Always a great time having lessons with the Hamilton instructors, they really make dancing so much fun. We had such an amazing time preparing for our wedding dance that we have continued lessons for around 2 year now!

I had wanted to learn to dance for years but never had a partner willing to join me. I finally decided to go by myself. I’ve been a student for about four to five months. Anna and her team are extremely energetic and talented instructors. I started with no musical knowledge and a belief that I had no rhythm. I had an expectation that I would be unable to dance and unteachable. They have made me feel very comfortable and I have learned so much. It has been fun and great exercise. It has been an investment in my health and well being. I’ve been meeting new people and I’m looking forward to meeting many more.
