My son has attended Fraser Academy for the past 5 years and it has been everything of a positive experience that somehow has gotten better with each passing year! The Head of School, Department Heads, Teaching Staff and Supports are of high caliber and are excellent role models for the students that surround them each day. They approach teaching from A PERSPECTIVE THAT SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT IN ALL MAINSTREAM AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS. This school goes above and beyond in their quest to become better in everything they deliver and realize that it is actually the students who help make that happen. They don’t β€œteach at” their students; they β€œwork with” them to accomplish grades and goals. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to offer my son the educational experience that Fraser Academy does.

Fraser is the worst school I've ever been to. While at Fraser I would hate going to school. The staff didn't help since they gave me wrong advice on what classes to take for the program I wanted to go into in university. Due to Fraser's advice, I was not able to get into the program I wanted because after I left Fraser I realized that I didn't have some of the prerequisites to get into the courses I wanted. The people running the school are delusional and will fire anyone who even thinks about giving an argument that doesn't completely agree with what they think. Tutoring at Fraser is also useless and the majority of my grade at least, never went to tutoring since it was more useful to do homework for classes that actually mattered. If Fraser had math tutoring it would be way more useful but in the state it is in right now, you would be better off just getting a tutor once or twice a week in the subject that your struggling in. Overall, Fraser Academy is a terrible school that is more concerned about their reputation then their students.

The admin team and the teachers at Fraser Academy are amazing. They do care about the kids and go out of their way to ensure the children's safety and overall well-being. Most grade 12 students at Fraser get accepted into fantastic university programs, and the percentage of students who do continue with post-secondary studies are much higher at Fraser Academy than most other similar schools in the province.

Our son is in his 3rd year at Fraser Academy and it has been nothing but a positive experience. Before attending FA, our son was nowhere close to reading a grade level, was extremely frustrated, and suffered greatly from low self esteem and social isolation in the public system. We noticed a significant change within a few months of attending FA. The teachers work hard to build confidence and skill sets for the students to take with them as they become more independent. We are always in awe of how engaged our 13 year old is in his school work and are so grateful to have found a school that cares so very much about these brilliant students who struggle to fit into the public stream. I would HIGHLY recommend Fraser Academy to any parent wising to offer their child a supportive experience where they can grow academically and beyond.

From the initial interview, to our 3rd year at Fraser Academy, we are beyond grateful to have found such a unique learning environment that allows our child to grow and learn and become all he can be. The head of school, admin, teachers and all support staff are top notch, genuine caregivers, who know how to reach children, meet them where they are at, and draw out their unique strengths. Highly recommend this Academy.

It is so sad that the admin staff do not have the students best interest at Fraser Academy. All they care about is lining their pockets with our money. It was made clearly obvious during our online learning experience that the admin staff do not listen to the parents or their own teachers. The teachers have been amazing and so caring to my son. I appreciate them so much. If they ever start their own school, I will join in a heart beat. I'd question why so many have left in the past 3 years, and there must be a larger issue with the school. When we first started at Fraser, we were desperate. Now looking back it feels like the head of school, Maureen Steltman, manipulated us and abused our vulnerability to make us believe that the school could give our child the best education to change their future. I believe that this school could have so much potential to help so many families and students, however with their current leadership team, they are far from being the glowing light of hope they claim to be. I would not recommend this school.

I love this school! I attended FA for nine wonderful and life changing years. It gave me the tools to become anything I want to be and to succeed in life. The teachers and administration are absolutely outstanding and extremely supportive. If my parents had not made the sacrifice to move me out of my old school and to Fraser Academy, I truly do not know where I would be in my life. I am currently in university working towards a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English Literature and a minor in Special Needs Education. I then plan to obtain a Bachelor of Education at the high school level so that I can give back and teach at FA. I am able to attend university because of Fraser Academy. Even though and am in university, FA is still helping me to thrive as I am currently enrolled in their outreach services for post secondary students. A few of MANY benefits of Fraser Academy are, small class sizes (I only ever had 10-12 students in my classes), well trained teachers, built in tutoring, flex block, the music program, post secondary planning, Camp Malibu and filed trips, outdoor education, and the INCREDIBLE Executive Functioning program that is implemented in all classes. My parents and Fraser Academy gave me a second chance in life. Fraser Academy is a place for second chances and to become a successful individual who can go on to be a productive member of society with a fruitful career. I cannot say enough good things at Fraser Academy. I look forward to seeing how FA grows over the next many decades. Much gratitude, Aryelah Simon

Being trained in O-G with Fraser Academy has saved me teaching time from scrambling for online resources or going through basal reading programs to learn how to address my students with reading difficulties. My training is helping me tap into my own level of creativity with a multi-sensory approach that is much more brain-based. I'm realizing that "a program" isn't always the go-to resource for efficient literacy lessons. Sometimes the supplies and resources we take for granted are actually much more successful than investing in the "latest" and "newest" digital programs. I’m a much more resourceful teacher in finding simple tools to teach a concept that doesn't always involve fancy gadgets. For instance, using mini colour coded blocks to help a child spell and apply their knowledge of consonants and vowels has proven to be more engaging for a student than sitting in front of a computer or iPad. O-G should be a requirement for beginning teachers as it teaches the foundation of literacy.
