About Franca's Italian Restaurant

Starting as Franca's perfect gifts in the basement of the family home, Franca's has flourished. Immigrating from a small town in Calabria Italy, Franca and Mario started their life together in Calgary, and have never looked back.

Starting as a single entrepreneur to now owning a small business with a staff of 7 employees, the Flaviano's continues to adapt and grow. Franca's is proud to be a small family business, you will regularly see Nona, her sister or two boys helping out around the restaurant and sharing their love of food.

Mario has been featured in various publications, sharing his expertise and love of food. Mario was asked to create the main course for the 3rd annual Half Your Plate Chefs Dinner. The dinner showcases local Calgarian chefs showing us innovative, delicious new ways to enjoy our vegetables. The event had over 400 in attendance with all proceeds benefitting Calgary Community Kitchens and the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.

Franca's philosophy is simple, arrive as guests and leave as family.

We couldn't decide on what to each have, so they decided for us! Beautiful family meal was tailored to our group! The dishes kept coming and coming with a variety amazed us all. Absolutely DELICIOUS, phenomenal service, perfect atmosphere. We will visit again and again. Looking forward to Blues night in April! We had a Burrata cheese appetizer, which was directly imported for them, with fresh tomatoes, prosciutto and arugula. Amazing. For mains I had the Chicken Parmesan, which was easily the best chicken parm I've ever had. Very generous portions with fresh pasta and tomato sauce that tasted like the tomatoes had been picked that morning. My wife had the gnocchi (which i sampled) and it was amazing as well. Can't recommend Franca's enough - amazing food and a cozy atmosphere with great service.

Everything on the menu is fantastic. Be sure to top off the meal with one of their signature desserts, the peaches are my personal favorite.
