Came in with Afib symptoms late morning on February 28. The wait to see a doctor was over 3 hours. After being called in, ECG was done promptly. A bit of delay to get blood work done. However I was quickly taken to a room for examination. A very kind and competent nurse called Sam took care of me. Two and later a third doctor came in to explain what they would be doing to convert the heart to normal rhythm. I have had cardioversion before so I knew what to expect. The procedure was done quickly and I was on my way home. Thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurse Sam who took care of me on February 28 after 4:00 pm. I can’t say enough about the good care that was given to me. I was totally relaxed during the procedure as I knew I was in very good hands. Also Covid procedures were being followed to the utmost of care.

I only got around to writing this review a year and two months later (you may understand why after reading the next line), but it holds just the same. My father was in ICU here for two weeks before passing (Nov 2020). While the entire experience was harrowing, this was not due to the staff, as they were highly attentive, kind, informative, and understanding. Only two of us could visit, but that was understandable considering the (still) ongoing pandemic. I am eternally grateful for the care he received at FMC, and while I wish the experience of illness upon no one, if your family member ends up in an ICU, rest assured that they will be well cared for at FMC. My thanks to all those who work in Healthcare, especially in such a horrible time as a pandemic.

Now, I understand that hospitals are very busy, and that they must prioritize certain cases/conditions. I get that. However, during my stay I felt very ignored and uncomfortable- this was especially vexing because I could hear staff joking around and engaging in small talk. Further, when the doctor eventually came to see me, it ended up being a 4 minute conversation and some tests with her stethoscope. I waited like 4 hours for a very small level of analysis.

Dr Maclean saved my dads life. He was rushed to the hospital with severe stomach pain and vomiting, we waited in the waiting room for about 3 hours before he was taken to emergency. Turns out he has stage 4 colon cancer which destroyed his large intestine. He had to have emergency surgery within the hour, the nurse told me he was in such a rush he wheeled my dad into the operating room himself, he was moments away from death. If it wasn’t for him he wouldn’t be here right now. It will still be a long road with chemo and another surgery, but I cannot thank this man enough for being so on top of it. God bless him.

My grandma had a stroke and was hospitalized here. She was here for about 4 days. We've been coming here everyday to see her and be with her, in turns of course (2 at a time). The day she passed, my family (of 6) and I went to see her and we were not allowed to do so, which is understandable. But the staff outside in the main building was extremely impatient and rude with us while we were trying to arrange the order in which the pairs would go see her. They kept interrupting and asking us to wait outside. We waited out in the vestibule because it was -11Β° (-16Β°) till our car came and they kept signalling us to leave like we didn't already know. All the while within the very generous 2 minutes that we were given. And as we proceeded to leave due to this disrespectful behavior to wait outside, the staff member came to kick us out from the vestibule too. I understand they have a duty and we have been complying this whole time when we came to visit her when she was ill. What I don't understand is why they couldn't let the grieving family members a few minutes to figure out where they would wait out in the cold. We've had a pleasant experience from Foothills Hospital thus far but this is unacceptable and unkind. I believe you can do better in the future.

Having recently been an inpatient at FMC for close to a month, all I have is praise and thanks. The care I received was excellent! The Staff was very knowledgeable caring and would always listen first in order to address my concerns. I felt I was in good hands and was able to take part in my recovery plan. Dietary. The food was absolutely nutritional and was served on time. Hats off to the newly heated trays hot/cold hot food was hot and cold food was cold. Keep the good work goingΒ°!

The staff here are amazing!! Yes, it can be busy. Yes, the wait is long. But, just know this - while I was there, at least 3 nurses volunteered to extend their shifts by an extra 12 hours to help the waiting patients. Doctors have a massive case load, and even volunteers deal with patients complaining about wait times constantly, with a smile. All the staff I spoke to were respectful and helpful - whether they were in triage, behind a desk or leaving their shift at the end of the day. You are all doing a fantastic job and I, for one, really appreciate all you do ❀️

I had my first birth at Foothills and every single nurse that we came in contact with was compassionate, caring, patient and just made the overall experience incredibly smooth. Due to COVID we also had a private room from which we could see the mountains (pretty cool). I went in on Sunday for some concerns with my second pregnancy and both Larissa and Courtney were fantastic to deal with. I was in and out in less than a half hour, and wasn't made to feel like an inconvenience. Instead they were both reassuring and kind. I would recommend this hospital to anyone looking to give birth and/ or receive maternal care as each time I've gone in, I've had nothing but positive experiences.
