A good place overall for dim sum. Price point moderate, service quick, food does the job. Would have gotten another star from me if they serve rice rolls, but alas, they do not. At least the shrimp dumplings were tasty!

Uhmm… I don’t usually leave reviews or care to look at a restaurants review but after having dim sum here today, I was so curious to see the rating of this restaurant. Very surprised it has 4 star rating. Maybe it’s from the dinner menu? My rating is only regarding the dimsum. The portions were so tiny! First time seeing 3 tiny shrimp ha gow in a basket… usually it’s 4 and sometimes even 5. And only 2 items on some of the other dishes we ordered... I even heard the table behind us making the same comment as us, that the portions are so small. Taste is also very mediocre. Sorry but definitely won’t be coming back for dimsum. They need to up their portion size. The center of our deep fried scallop taro was also cold. Not worth it for dim sum. So many better dimsum restaurants in lower mainland.

Like many restaurants during Covid, Flamingo Chinese Restaurant closed down due to the strict restrictions regarding social distancing. As this has always been one of our fav Chinese restaurants in the neighbourhood, we had been patiently awaiting their reopening and were finally rewarded this week (they reopened on Oct 13th). What you'll find here now is a more limited menu (although they now serve dim sum all day) but they've taken the time off to do a bit of a refresh of their interior and added physical barriers between the tables to ensure the safety of the diners. While we were a bit disappointed that some of our fav dishes aren't on the regular menu, they did say that we could still pre-order them in advance. Definitely going to take them up on that suggestion in the future.

Not bad. Decent selection. Food quality was pretty good, not overly salty. Prices have risen, probably tracking inflation. Was $32 after taxes for just myself. Sad that it doesn't look like a classic dim sum place after the reno recently. Oh well.

Last night, we had a group of 30 people together. We called ahead and worked out the menu. The food, service and atmosphere exceeded our expectations in every regard. Special thanks to Ming (I hope I spelled that correctly) for hosting us. It was a great night. :)

By far, one of the best Dim Sum restaurants in Vancouver. The dining area was renovated a year ago with "fresh" bright colors. It is clean and specious. The food is absolutely outstanding and the service is second to none. Flamingo has been one of our favorites dating back to over 40 years, when they were on Cambie Street and on the second floor on Fraser Street. We learned today that they have another restaurant on W 4th and Baywater Street called "Little Bird Dim Sum & Craft Beer". We will definitely make a visit there.

Work nearby and we don’t have enough restaurants in the area so this is our go to place. Love their dim sum and other Chinese meals. My favourite are the deep fried squid, taro puff, deep fried tofu, deep fried squid and chicken feet. They renovated the place too so it looks more modern now and their service is fast, friendly and welcoming.

This is my first time coming here after 5 years. They have changed so much. Due to the pandemic, they have minimized their menu and it seems to cater more to western people from the dishes. We called about their lobster on sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf and they were very happy to accomodate us. However, prices have gone through the roof since the pandemic so we did not order it. When we got there, we found out their menu have been minimized. We asked about the other dishes they used to have and the servers said they are happy to make the dish if they have the ingredients on hand. What wonderful service! There are many people like us who love certain dishes at flamingo and would be sad to not be able to have them anymore but flamingo is more than happy to cater to their old guests. We ordered the taro duck and it was delicious. Since it wasnt on the menu, we expected a very high price for it but when we got the bill, it was so reasonable! The eggplant and tofu hot ceramic pot was so flavorful. The chicken salad was refreshing especially with the candied walnuts. I hope to see things flourish again so they can serve the dishes we all love.
