Best maintained fishing resort I have been to in Canada!

Words can't describe this place, it's just an amazing place to stay, nature all around, very peaceful , the people running it are amazing as well, food was great and the fishing was out of this world

Best fishing experiences ever had have been at Fireside Lodge. Have been here a number of times and never disappointed. Catch & release only. Located on the Little Vermilion Lake system (upper and lower arms). Also 4 lakes can portage to where boat and motor are already there for your use. There are also 2 lakes can reach through creeks (beware of the industrious beavers and their dams). Accommodations and service are excellent. There is a well stocked tackle shop in the lodge. Also wireless internet access in lodge from 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM but limited to email and light browsing due to satellite provider. Staff friendly, helpful and just plain great. Beautiful location and scenery. Keep eye and camera out for numerous wildlife opportunities. Be sure to have lunch at Twi Falls. Would highly recommend this lodge. The owners are Alan and Audrey. They are great hosts and genuinely wonderful folks.

I took a group to Fireside several years ago. Some of the best Muskie fishing I've ever seen. Three of us in one boat released 10 Large Muskie in a single day. Accommodations were OK, but the food left something to be desired.(this may have improved since we were there). I don't think you'll find better fishing, but we've chosen other lodges over the last few years.

Alan and Audrey have been resort owners for over 25 years, and their experience and dedication to customer service was evident from the minute we parked our truck after a drive from Minneapolis. Audrey greeted us as we stepped out of the truck, showed us where to park, and gave us an orientation to our cabin and to meal times etc. Then, Alan met with us and gave us a detailed lake map, showed us how to operate the boat and motor and how to navigate around rocks and other obstacles on the lake. He gave us hints on where to fish, what bait to use, and introduced us to the individuals who staffed the marina. Within one hour of arrival we were on the lake fishing, and we caught several smallmouth bass and northern pike immediately. The weather presented a few challenges, but each morning Alan made the rounds to each table at breakfast to give advice on how and where to fish given the weather conditions. Speaking of breakfast, you are allowed to order from a menu, and Audrey makes each delicious meal herself. The kitchen staff are attentive and delightful. A cooler with a lunch is waiting at your table. The fishing is nothing short of spectacular. If you work at it, you will catch trophy smallmouth bass, northern pike, and muskie. I encourage you to try and fish some of the lakes nearby, as Alan has boats with motors available, and each lake offers different opportunities. All in all, this was by far our best fishing trip to Canada. The fishing, camaraderie, customer service and accommodations are unmatched. We will be returning for years to come!!
