★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I rented in this building (on the 15th floor) in 2018 for roughly three months. Our landlord did not disclose prior to our tenancy that the unit was riddled with silverfish (hundreds of them) that would come out from under the walls each evening to socialize. We figured out fairly quickly why the previous tenant had left all their expensive furniture "as a gift" to us.
We hired a professional exterminator to fumigate the unit, and that was effective for roughly three weeks. After the insecticide faded, the horde returned in force, which suggested to us the problem wasn't localized to our unit.
After some entomological and legal research, we learned that (1) silverfish breed and thrive in moisture-rich environments, and (2) the building's developer had been sued for alleged plumbing deficiencies and resulting floods occurring in the complex. I'm unsure about the truth of those allegations, but in the short time we were there, the building experienced a 40 unit flood.
To the building management's credit, they reimbursed us fully for the fumigation when we informed them of the problem (unlike our landlord), and generally seemed willing to action the problem. For all we know, also, they may have fixed the bug issue by now. We are not certain if the silverfish were on floors other than the 15th.
In sum, we would caution anyone reading this against renting in Firenze, or purchasing a unit there, without a thorough home inspection first (preferably in the evening, when the silverfish become active).
