Not Crazy about this Facility.. The food was cold and our family member to wait about 40 minstrel to get back to bed.. Plus they said on the first floor is strictly for rehab..there is a patient there they had to feed this person by hand.. So not overly excited about this place

My dad, Bill, has been in this home for over 4 years. The staff including the PSW's and nurses are TRULY OUTSTANDING!! I feel so blessed that my dad is being looked after with such care and compassion. My dad has physical disabilities, but he is mentally sharp. He absolutely adores all his caregivers and only says wonderful things about them. Thank you to all the staff who have been absolute hero's throughout this Covid pandemic.

This was my experience. 16 months, a camera in the room, an essential visitor since Sept 16 2020. Some staff are kind and go a bit beyond the minimum required to care for personal needs but they are so busy that residents are mainly left alone and lonely. The string call bell mom could not use . after many months compalining replaced by a squeeze ball type only to be often left out of her reach Psws visit with each other in room A psw made fun of her, made personal calls in her room, shouted "Are you sure you don't want that?' provoking angry response from two strokes and poor memory in 90s. often left alone to eat and not pulled up or centred, table was too high to reach things properly her care plan says needs extensive assistance. At first 7 hours in wheelchair crying out hours that bottom sore but changed her careplan through the charge nurse, charge nurse said not a charge nurse could not change the care plan and had no time to do careplan until told nurse manager .Laundry lost repeatedly and never returned. if said no to shower said we don't have to give her one so put careplan must contact POA if refuses care. Some desserts frozen and water was bitter mixed with lemon and juice is blended with pear puree and often bitter Food was low portioned until asked for bigger portions the kitchen director. Kitchen does accommodate requests if ask ahead and approve it tap leaked for weeks mattress depressed caused her constant pain in behind .after 11 months she got air mattress with pump. My mom tall, heavy given small psws not adequately reposition her and complained you break my back. Staff moved, substituted a lot Screeners shouted, held me up longer staff let through quickly. often shouted awake Me Forced to gown in lobby against Ministry for 4 months. Many emails to admin staff never answered. just educate staff if make mistakes, they are so desperate for employees. Many UTIs. Many unconnected calls. Some deliver medicine esp tylenol over the hour plus or minus. Feb 6 nurse asked in bad cognitive state if wanted extra tylenol when just got 45 min ago. Feb 10 psws who porta lifted left mom's dump in blocked toilet. Mom has COPD,, cough with phlegm. feb 12 psw put bed down low causing coughing not following care plan, Feb 23 left hand had gash, call bell tangled not in reach Feb27 has pneumonia, xray ordered By dr P feb 8 never given was reordered Feb 22 so had pneumonia for weeks. negligence. had UTI again feb 18 on antibiotic.Mar 2 left leg wound from porta lift. Mar 6 hair not washed.Mar 7 arm pain Tylenol 6 hours apart, dr said 4, coughing, suctioned,Mar 13 7 days isolation DOC had insisted on 14 days despite me telling her it was against TPH April 2 .UTI again and bronchitis. Front door not always opening with code, April 12 call bell behind bed.not changed 4 days twice a shift as CP. Apr 15 rash groin back face, different lotion and scented soap given, 4 staff and 2 residents covid, few activities for res, not as posted, cramped tv room, staff socialize in breakroom capacity of 2 always filled more but residents stay in room despite majority vaccinated, need more recreation, socialization and visitors, almost constant outbreak or suspected outbreak for one year, May 11 staff virus, no lotion in building, shirt not returned, booties not washed months June 26 not changed until one pm even if has UTI, no coffee at dinner, new staff slipping up repeatedly. New Ex D is better. When there are subs for holidays ect not transferred to chair properly dentures left in .Mom got into a not for profit city home July 19 2021. Thanks to those who showed care which most long standing staff do. It is not enough just to feed and clean them and ignore her questions and need for attention and socialization which some newer hired staff do and lots of subs do. Allowing essential Caregivers was the best thing the Ontario gov't did and it should have been done way sooner.. The 6 months lockdown was terrible and allowed staff to ignore and worse with little accountability, Reminded often.

My mom is currently a resident of this facility. With this ongoing pandemic, I know the nurses are working hard. I just want to thank you nurses and aides of 3A for your patience, strength and compassion during the pandemic. We , Rose's children , thank you for your care. May God give you abundant strength and patience& keep you and the residents safe.

Not all floors receive the same level of care and attention. I received a calendar of events for April and 1A had 12 days with no activities unlike the other floors. I was told it was because someone quit, but there are activity providers on other floors who could fill in and maybe share the load. Like another poster on here there have been multiple issues with my Mom's care.

My Mother is a resident at Fieldstone. I took my Father there yesterday to visit Mom. They hadn't seen each other in quite some time and the staff made the visit so special. They set up a table for my parents in one of the common rooms and brought in an extra lunch for Dad. They also checked in on them regularly to see how they were doing. The whole experience helped create a wonderful reunion for my parents. I truly appreciate the genuine care expressed by the staff. ❀
