A fantastic waterfall right in the city. Lots of fall colours around the falls

Beautiful waterfall after a short hike. A bit rocky so watch your step! Shame that when I was there, there were some garbage bags and litter along the base. But overall, a quiet place (at least when I went). Do come by a day or two after rainfall for a good flow! Edit: Beautiful in the winter. Added photo. Watch your step as the ice forms on the rocky ground!

Visited the top of the falls on New Years Day, 2022. ? You can also visit the falls from the base, but today we wanted something easier because of the mud so we started at the top of the mountain and stayed at high elevation. For a more challenging hike, park near the playground just north-east of the falls. To do what we did, read "parking" below. Quite a tranquil space to walk your pooch in the dead of winter, and a stunning waterfall to take in. ❄ It's easily one of the biggest easy-access falls in Hamilton. Bonus: ? The rosehip bushes are sweet, ripe, and super juicy this time of year, if you're in to foraging. Popularity: We loved how it was pretty quiet! We passed maybe 10 other groups of hikers in the whole 1 hr 30 min duration of our hike. We also passed two lads on ATVs, which was stinky and noisy, but thankfully they were out of nasal-range within seconds, and out of earshot within minutes. ??? Parking: ***Note: This is not an official parking spot. We parked at the smaller falls just to the East, called "Glover's Falls." It's a 1 hr 30 minute round trip from parking to falls and back again, with stops to take photos along the way. If you park at Glover's Falls, it's just a dead end road that faces a cliff (not a parking lot). There's enough space for 10 cars or so. To get to Felker's falls, face Glover's falls and turn left toward the trail that is level, and follow the gorge so it stays on your right-hand-side and the subdivision construction is on your left. Do NOT walk to the right of the falls, where the trail is on a downward slope, as that will take you further away from Felker's falls. For a quick 15 minute walk, you can also park at the top of the falls near the Children's play park, just a few meters to the south west. Enjoy!
