Export Grill

First and only time my partner and I will go. We went to celebrate a friends birthday, and as soon as we arrived, the confusion started. First we had to randomly walk the Bar and walk in on other parties/groups eating as there is no-one to help you find your group, seat, reservations, or even to tell you there is a mysterious upstairs with 5 apartments that are now individual rooms, we found out by opening many doors. Finally when we got to our table, the waiter said he would take our drink request as he JUST did the tables drink order, then he left as we were sitting down and about to tell him. Then we needed to remind him, we wanted drinks. After that we ordered our food as a group does. 1 hour and 3 minutes later,we got our food, which we all discovered, more than half was COLD. My burger was full pink in the middle, and my pountine was cold with GRAVY SKIN on top which i peeled off and put onto another plate hoping the waiter would notice, he did not. Instead he cleared out table, asked if we wanted anything else,brought someone a coffee, then a final drink order was given, and he made himself a coffee instead of getting our final drink order. All in all, I would not recommended this bar n grill to anyone.

Thank you for allowing us to sit by the window with our daughter while we had a beverage and a snack…….we assumed that when you said pick anywhere for seating we would not be critiqued to the rest of the patrons at the bar. The best part about this meal was leaving and going elsewhere for lunch.

Great service. Surprisingly good food based on the name of the place. Don't judge a book by its cover. Cool art on the walls. Patio on the street and second floor for busy nights. Plan to return.

In response to the owner: I appreciate your reply and would like to clarify some things. We did not ask for the manager as it was our first time there. Typically, if I visit a restaurant for the first time and am experiencing issues, I do not put in the energy to ask for the manager but simply do not return. In response to the chemical cleaning, upon further reflection I realize that your restaurant's seating area is limited to one source of ventilation; the front door. Other restaurants do not have this issue with scents either due to good ventilation or cleaning supply type. It is great that you take the extra measures to make sure your restaurant is safe for your customers! I acknowledge that it was the waiter's first shift, and that must have been so scary. In the future she should be mindful that her irritated and negative tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language can disuade customers from returning. Also, when two people from the same table order the same drink, they should taste the same. Finally, I apologize for the miscommunication regarding the party number size, I was advised it was booked for 10 not 8. Thank you and all the best in the future. Original post: Tonight I went to a birthday group gathering at the export grill and didn't tip the waiter due to the terrible experience. This is the first time in my life i've never tiped. Ill break my experience down in sections. FACILITY: One friend made the reservation and specified the guest count, but when we all got there they only had one table available without enough seats for everyone. The tables are bolted to the floor so there was nothing they could do. Half way through the meal they started cleaning around us with strong smelling chemicals and it really irritated my lungs and ones from the other guests. WAITER:The waiter seemed very irritated and impatient with us the whole night. When asking questions about the menu, she oftentimes rolled her eyes at us and seemed annoyed. We asked her to take a picture of the group on 4 separate occasions and she said she would try but never did. We ended up asking the cook walking by who immediately helped us out. It took 20 minutes for all of us to get our bills and the waiter again seemed irritated. Honesty the entire night it felt like the waiter wanted us to hurry up and leave because we were inconveniencing her. We came at 5pm and were a very respectable, understanding group of women but this behaviour was unacceptable FOOD: My pasta was disgusting, the onions weren't properly cooked and the pasta itself tasted dry. I would have brought it home for my dogs but I don't think they would have even eaten it. I put the food in a take-away container with the plan to take it home because I wanted to be respectful, but because of the nasty attitude of the waiter the entire night, I just left it on the table after I paid and left. I ordered the brownie dessert and it was dry and microwaved where some parts were a lot hotter than others.

GREAT service from the bartender/waiter. He was amazing. Food was mediocre at best. All kinds of staff there, only one guy working. One of our burgers was missing components, the cook tried to play and laugh it off while our server noticed and was apologetic. Over all not a bad experience but won't be back

We had a table of 4 on a fairly busy Wednesday night. Welcomed by several staff very quickly, and seated right away. Natasha was our server, and she was very friendly and attentive. Our food and drinks were very good and came quickly even though we sat upstairs. We will all be back very soon. P.S. we went for Valentine's day for the first time and couldn't get over the price for the meal we received. $29.95 SPECIAL was unbelievable 4 course dinner. Keep up the great service!

Service was alright but not top notch. Our servers also weren’t wearing their masks. Our burgers were great! we had the La Bomba and the shroom burger with a veggie patty. It wasn’t beyond meat it was a patty made of peas, corn other veg etc. It wasn’t horrible and I’d probably order it again if I were here but it isn’t anything to write home about. We had tempura cauliflower and it wasn’t really tempura, more like deep fried cauliflower. Bland but not bad.

We had a difficult time finding a good place to eat and if you look at the place from the outside you would think twice about going inside. Well, let me tell you I am glad we ventured in, as soon as we walked in we were surprised. The host was friendly, the environment felt like the type of place you head to with friends after a hard days work. It's the type of place you frequent and watch your favorite sport and catch up with friends. Everything from the sweet potato soup, cheese steak sandwich and burger was well prepared and delicious. Thank you for a great experience. We will definitely be back
