While we spoke with numerous companies specializing in Africa tourism, what set Explorations Africa apart is their knowledge and passion for Africa. Working with them was easy and stress-free.They answered all of our questions (and we had quite a few!) and sent us numerous materials on the regions we could visit. We really appreciated how they listened to what we wanted out of our Africa trip. They made excellent suggestions on what to see and where to stay that suited our interests and our budget. When we booked our Namibia and Botswana safari with them were able to do so with complete confidence. We cannot say enough good things about Explorations Africa!

We recently returned from a wonderful African Safari through Zimbabwe and Botswana with Dan and Antoinette. They personally guided our group of six travelers while all we had to do was relax and enjoy all the perfectly arranged land and river safari adventures. Being such a small group was enjoyable and made the trip flow really well. The local hospitality was second to none. Every person was out to ensure that our trip was fun, adventurous and totally safe and carefree. All facets of the trip were taken care of 100% in order for us to have a worry-free adventure. Definitely an adventure we would recommend for carefree travel and would unhesitatingly repeat again.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed an amazing experience in South Africa and Zimbabwe this past April. Dan and Antoinette are clearly passionate about Africa; with their combined experience of living and working there, this couple have a wealth of knowledge about many of the African countries. When assisting us with our travel plans, they were clearly committed to organizing a tour that met with our interests and budget. We experienced wonderful guides and camps, exceptional food, transitions between locations (including flights and itinerary) proved to be seamless, and everything was as advertised (no hidden fees or surprises!) Good morning Antoinette, It was fun talking to you last night but I wanted to send a thank you for your work helping us plan our wonderful trip to Africa. We knew from the first time we met you we could trust you to make a memorable experience for us...and you didn’t disappoint! You were so positive and excited about Africa and now we know why. Everything went without a hitch. The transfers were seamless, the camps gorgeous and the adventure one we will never forget. We especially liked the inclusion of a city (Cape Town) and the beautiful Victoria Falls in order to show the diversity of Africa. The game drives were lots of fun and we were accompanied by expert guides, who added to our experience. We got lots of great photos and can’t wait to share them with our friends and family. Thanks for your insight and your patience with us as we worked through all the details. It was a wonderful adventure from start to finish! We can't thank you enough for the wonderful trip you planned for us! It has been 3 months since we got home and I still get goose bumps when I think back on our experiences. Every detail of our almost 5 week trip was looked after with the utmost professionalism. We started our trip with 2 gorilla treks in Uganda that were absolutely fabulous and finished with a jaw dropping wildebeest migration in Tanzania. The amazing thing is that all our camps and experiences in between were able to meet the standards established by these end points. Our camps and guides were exceptional and the animals we were able to see far exceeded my expectations. I will admit to suffering a bit of trepidation about this trip when we started to plan it, however it didn't take long working with Antoinette before that feeling was gone. When you realize the experience and passion possessed by Antoinette, it is easy to put your faith in her plan for you. Every step of the trip was laid out in detail and a pre-departure meeting ensured any questions or concerns were addressed. Even invaluable camera equipment advice was provided by Dan! I would absolutely recommend Explorations Africa to anyone planning to visit and am dreaming of the time I can book a return one! Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!

There is no detail that Antoinette and Dan overlooked in booking an amazing and magical trip for us. Their combined knowledge and experience is impressive and they took that background along with their passion for Africa to build an unforgettable adventure that we will remember for years to come. All of the safari camps and other accommodations were beyond our expectations. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and personable, the meals are well prepared and very flavorful, the guides are extremely knowledgeable and fun to tour with, the transfers are seamless and our itinerary was perfect. We appreciate their care and thoughtfulness in making our trip a reality and have highly recommended them to our friends and neighbors. We look forward to booking with them again!

My experience working with Dan and Antoinette of Exploration Africa was first rate. They took the time to hear our expectations and made this whole travel experience so easy. We were met by staff at every airport to help us with getting to the next location which made our trip so relaxing. At the camps our guides were extremely friendly and it was so hard to leave them behind but with social media we still connect with these people who live and work in South Africa. I look forward to another trip to Africa to continue with my wildlife photography and seeing all that this continent has to offer. My wife and I booked our honeymoon through Antoinette at Explorations Africa. Our trip was a trip of a lifetime! Antoinette took the time to know what we wanted to experience from our African trip and organized the whole journey for us. She was really easy to communicate back and forth with. She always responded very quickly to our questions and made adjustments to our itinerary as required. She recommended a lot of experiences that we wouldn't have known about such as the Zambezi river cruise, going to Franschhoek for wine and doing a private tour down the cape to Cape Point, South Africa. Antoinette also provided us with details of what to expect at the airports, charter flights and the different safari camps. This was valuable as it helped us be prepared and less worried about our travels. We traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana in January/green season. We went to three different safari camps and had unique experiences at each. We weren't sure how much we would see given that it was green/rainy season. Everyday we saw elephants! One day as we had lunch on the Chobe River, 100 elephants (moms, babies, young males) came down to drink, eat and play! We also saw a lot of baby animals. We saw baby elephant, hippo, impala, zebra, warthog, baboon, hyena and even 4 lion cubs with their mother! Other animals we saw were giraffe, cape buffalo, ostrich, kudu, serval, crocodile, oryx, springbok, porcupine, banded mongoose, genet and a glimpse of a leopard. We also enjoyed seeing all the different species of birds. The kingfishers, rollers and bee-eaters were our favourite because they are so colourful. We have wonderful photos of all the animals because the greenery makes them stand out! Weather wise we had nice sunny days and cool mornings and evenings! Additionally because we went in low season we had a very private experience at every location. We never dealt with large crowds of people. Thank you for organizing the trip of a lifetime! We had a fabulous time in Africa and have memories we will cherish for ever!
