Tomomi is a talented stylist who gained her training and most of her experience working in Japan. Altogether she has over 13 years experience working in the hair and beauty industry. Tomomi specializes in Asian hair and always manages to give her clients a stylish, and often soft, natural look. She is also highly trained in creating beautiful chemical straightening and perms. Through her authentic technique, Tomomi exudes a calm and artistic demeanor. She is one of the senior stylists at ETCH and has been with the salon since its opening in spring, 2009.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This location is minutes away from my work in downtown. My stylist, Kanako was very skillful, warm, and patient. I am very satisfied with my first experience at Etch. The shoulder length cut was perfect. I strongly recommend this hair salon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to the other Etch Hair location and just comparing the two locations, this one is better in a way. Although it took some searching for (it's on the lower level when you walk into 805) it was definitely worth it. The sinks where they wash your hair adjusts to your neck so if you want to lower your head, it lowers itself. Size wise it's about the same if not a little bigger than their other location. I still had the same stylist Zxyro because he's really good at colouring, cutting and curling your hair. Price wise, a normal haircut can range from $20-$60 depending on the complexity and how much you're cutting off.
Also, I heard that this location also does eyelashes so if you're interested in that, why not give the girl that does it a try? ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've had my lashes done by Kanako and Brooke has done my hair at the downtown location. My lashes have lasted so well and I still get compliments 3 weeks later. Brooke did exactly what I wanted for my hair and I couldn't be happier. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been going to Etch hair for years and their services are always amazing. All my friends that I've recommended have stayed with their favourite stylist. Ever since I heard they are opening the downtown core location, I was super excited.
I was luckily able to book Keioshi when he was available for a haircut. Yesterday, he wasn't available and I needed an urgent haircut bad. Booked for Kanako as she was the only stylist available at my time slot. My haircut was great. I feel like it doesn't matter which stylist you choose, they will always make sure you come out great and confident.
Their styles are not too conservative but just the right amount of trendiness. Definitely my regular barber for years and years to come. Give this place a shot, they will not disappoint.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been going here for a while now and I highly recommend this salon to men and women alike. I usually just get a cut and style from Brooke, but I’ve seen some of the colouring and other services Brooke and the other stylists can give to their clients and appreciate the traditional Japanese hairstyling techniques they practice. The work is quick, precise, and skillful, and the prices are very reasonable. Also, the scalp massages are to die for.

He is an amazing colorist and hair stylist and deserves to be acknowledged.
He gave me the ash blonde color that I wanted and I can certainly see myself working with him in the future; he demonstrates great patience and awesome listening skills.
Additionally, this studio has good people culture. I noticed that the team works cooperatively and efficiently helping each other out where needed.

Despite having long straight hair and a fairly straightforward cut, I appreciate the stylists' attention to detail (ie how the hair falls and frames the face) that I haven't always gotten at other salons. Especially happy with the cuts I've gotten from Yumi!
