He takes his time to get to know everyone in his boat and truly cares about giving you the best experience possible! You owe it to yourself to fish with John! It will be the experience of a lifetime! I can’t thank him enough for the amazing day he gave my boys (11and 14) and I on the water! I will cherish that day the rest of my life and hope to book two days with him the next time I’m at Camp Esnagi!

We took home our limit for walleyes, and could have done the same for northerns if we had wanted to. He has tremendous knowledge about Esnagi Lake and makes the experience fun. Tremendous shore lunches each day. You can’t go wrong with John & Camp Esnagi!

The Saturday we were up there, we booked John Ross to guide us for the day on the lake. What an amazing day it was! John is a true Pro! He is an open wealth of knowledge when it comes to fishing, sharing tactics, location, lures, and stories with us all day. John put us on the Walleye immediately in the morning/early after noon. Later in the afternoon my father in law wanted to switch gears and catch Northern Pike, Again John put us right on the fish with ease! John was very accommodating to our party and tailored the day to fit our needs. He even cooked us an amazing shore lunch from the fish we caught earlier in the morning. If you are looking for a great time while fishing Esnagi I would highly recommend John Ross!

You won't be disappointed! PLUS, he does a KILLER shore lunch!!

John is a top notch guide with an indepth understanding of the lake and the fish behavior. He put us directly on the fish and positioned the boat perfectly to ensure our catching success. No wasted time if a spot wasn't producing! We were blown away by the fishing and John's abilities. John fired up the most efficient and delicious shore lunch we have ever had!! John has a great, easy going personality that takes the whole guiding experience to a new level. We booked John for our second day and couldn't resist booking him again for our last. Both trips with ridiculous numbers and size. We couldn't speak higher of him so make sure to book him if you are headed up to Camp Esnagi!
