★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I told them when I signed up for counseling that one of my issues that I wanted help with was yelling at people. They didn't comment on that. After months of treatment, with me making slow but definite progress, I had an argument with my counselor and yelled a little. We ended the session with a plan that I would come back and we'd revisit what happened next week.
A couple days later, I got a call telling me not to come back because my yelling had been disruptive to other patients. They referred me back to the place I'd been going to before which hadn't met my needs, and started claiming that they 'don't treat psychiatric conditions' (even though the vast majority of abuse survivors - the group they *claim* to serve - have psychiatric conditions, and the ones who don't probably don't need counselling). This is literally like a doctor saying they don't treat health conditions!
