I would not recommend this lawyer, Elizabeth Nijjar, to anyone, as I had a very bad experience. This laywer made of litany of errors costing me a lot of money. This lawyer's negligence cost me at least $13,000. I was selling a home and moved out because the other party had agreed to buy out my share. The other party renegged on their offer, costing me $13,000 in rent. This lawyer was aware I was moving out and did not advise me that I would not have legal recourse if the other party renegged on their offer. This lawyer wrote me an email AFTER I had already moved out once the other party's lawyer had explained the renegging of the offer. This lawyer also found a way to read my redacted emails (obviously against my wishes). This lawyer lost essentially every aspect of my case in court, when the evidence was strongly on my side. This lawyer showed indifference when I explained to her that the claims of the other party (that the home was unsellable) was false, even though it would have an impact on my legal case to seek court costs. I had to call another legal office and speak to another lawyer on my own to get the other party to back down on their claims. This lawyer made mistakes on the filing of affidavits and wanted me to pay for her mistakes, and I had to argue with her to explain she is responsible for correcting the mistakes without charging extra time. I told this lawyer explicitly that I wanted to attend the court hearing. I worked extra on the weekend so that I could take some time off during the week to attend the court hearing. This lawyer did NOT inform me of when the court hearing was to start, and claimed she didn't have enough time to text me. Seriously? You don't have time for a 10 second text? I feel strongly that my presence at court would have helped my case. This lawyer messed up the strata lot # and parcel # on the court order, necessitating me to hire another lawyer, since this came to light after I had already fired this lawyer. This lawyer was less expensive than others, but ended up costing me a LOT more in the long run. You get what you pay for, buyer beware.

Elizabeth is genuine, which is a rare quality to have or find these days. Not only is she extremely empathetic, polite and professional, she also tells you like it is. She is equipped with vast knowledge and experience which reflects in her expertise and advice. I cannot recommend her enough! Thank you!!!

Elizabeth Nijjjar is a brilliant lawyer. She is knowledgeable, articulate and passionate about family law. I knew from the first time meeting her that I wanted her to represent me. My ex husband without telling me changed our residence and took our children while I was on an international flight back to BC and I was shocked as to why he and his family members would do that to me. Elizabeth took action right away and won at the urgent court hearing and the children were placed back in my care even though the opposing party had made serious false allegations against me. After that we had many hearings where she took control and always made sure my concerns were presented to the judge and the judge always ruled in her favor even when the hearing was scheduled by the other side for an order they wanted. The opposing party and his counsel were often left baffled as to what just took place. I'm glad I had Elizabeth during this intense one year of litigation whereas the opposing party had used four different lawyers. She made me feel important and listened to me and even empowered me. She worked with me and knew my case inside and out. Elizabeth always kept the best interest of me and children at the forefront of all discussions and negotiations. Even though my case has finished I can still call her for advice or guidance and she always makes herself available to me. If you are looking for the best family law lawyer, then Elizabeth Nijjar is the one you want on your side.

I would highly recommend Elizabeth. Before retaining her I'd spoken with other lawyers and chose her even though I had to drive from Vancouver to her Surrey office. Her guidance was at all times outstanding, she was extremely supportive and made me feel like family. Elizabeth goes far above and beyond what could reasonably be asked of her. She has always been available to me even at the most urgent times and even after my case ended. She is very caring, patient and straight forward and always has her client's best interests at heart.

I hired Elizabeth for a family law case back in 2016, I was a single father at the time fighting for full custody of my son. In the end we got the result we wanted because she made sure to go above and beyond. My son had been taken to Washington State by my ex girlfriend and Elizabeth made sure he was brought to BC where he now lives with me.
