J	John Doe on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Compared to other shelter's in the province , This is a very well run place as well you wouldn't even think of it as a shelter settings. Staff that work there are great and most have been there for many years and still loving there place of employment.

r	reacon duffey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I spent five and a half years homeless throughout Canada staying in several shelters parks doorways and anywhere else after arriving at the emerald house in January I was welcomed in and quickly they realized I needed help two weeks later the case manager I was working with got me into temporary seasonal housing if not for her recommendation and great work ethic I wouldn't have gotten that since emeralds amazing service I'm now going on 6 months housed best shelter I've ever stayed in thank you to all the staff who helped me become a better man

This is due to the fact is operated by BC housing and BC Mental health. I found it was relatively easy to get in. The stay is free for a month. Your free to leave at anytime. If your hard up for a place to stay in Kamloops you won't regret it.
S	Smoke Walker on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't know why they list it as a hostile, it's more of a homeless shelter than anything. You don't have to pay to stay there, however they will make you wash all you clothes and anything you bring in there. They almost operate it like a prison or jail as you will have to delaouse yourself before that let you stay there. As well their rules are pretty strict because they have quite a large turnover of homeless people that do stay there on a regular basis.

B	B. M. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By the sounds of it, they allow unsupervised drug use and refuse to help those who wish to switch rooms when trying to remain sober. They get angry when you ask for help and tell you to leave the premises for the night. Horrible hearing this from a friend needing help.

As good as it is to have this resource in our community it unfortunately just becomes an enabling enviroment for continued drug use abuse of every resource and sadly just ends up affecting the community and tax payers. I truly believe there needs to be a much closer look into these places before the government hands over sich high amounts of funding. Plus the staff need to go through a much higher level of screening before hiring. Only a couple of people that work there even know what they are doing let alone have amy compassion for thr situation. For the most part kamloops is just an enabling community, and we wonder why our town has become the dumping grounds for bcs interior homeless problem. Smh.
