I worked with Ellis Moving with a very tight time line on my move. The owner came to my home weeks in advance and dropped off boxes, packing material and gave us a demonstration on how to pack efficiently. Trust me - the demo is valuable. On the actual moving date I was impressed by how hard and efficient the crew worked and still remained friendly. These guys are the real McCoy.

I used Ellis Moving & Storage to move my belongings from Vancouver to Spain. The main reason I decided to bring things from home versus buying new here in Spain was because of my collection of paintings which I didn't want to part with. We also spoke in detail about the types of each painting (e.g. oil vs water colour, etc.), and I requested that my six most valuable paintings be crated for added protection. When I interviewed Ellis and a couple of other companies, I was very clear that taking care of my art work was the most important part of the move. Flash forward to present day. When my items finally arrived in Spain and I had the chance to open the boxes and check to make sure that they had arrived okay, I was upset to see that for my two most valuable paintings, paint came off each painting onto the plastic wrap that they had wrapped them in. They hadn't bothered to wrap them more carefully to ensure this didn't happen. Note that I have moved these paintings many times myself over the years and never had this happen because I put a layer of cardboard between the front of each painting and the plastic wrap to ensure this didn't happen. And for one other treasured artwork, the plastic completely stuck to the entire surface of the painting! Fortunately it came off without damaging the painting, even though it appears to have left some residue on the surface (which fortunately seems to come off with some gentle wiping). When I emailed my main contact about what had happened, he didn't respond. I then forwarded the same email to him and "cc'ed" the CEO - his brother I believe - to see if I would then receive a response. Still nothing. I find this very unacceptable considering the thousands of dollars I paid to them for their services. To give credit where credit is due, all of my other items arrived safely included my china and crystal glass set. However, the pieces of art that got damaged are worth over $12,000 Cdn. For one of them, it was only a small amount of paint that came off, but there was more damage on the other one. And I was very clear that they were the most important pieces to me. Plus it's hard to understand how professional movers don't know how to properly wrap things like paintings, and also why they completely forgot to crate the key pieces as discussed. So unfortunately I have to give Ellis Moving & Storage a D, especially because ignoring me once I reported the issue to them shows a complete lack of professionalism in my estimation. I would recommend finding another moving company, especially if you're transporting fine art work.

Working with Ellis was a great experience. They answer the phone instantly, the in person estimate for weight was spot on, and the moving team was efficient and friendly. Price was a bit higher than other movers, but worth it. We had one small item damaged, but they reimbursed us quickly.

We have moved in four provinces and this was our easiest move to date thanks to the great teamwork at Ellis Moving. Phil came and did the estimate and gave us helpful suggestions. We were surprised at the smaller size of the truck that arrived but it was perfect as were the two gentlemen who efficiently loaded our belongings and did an expert job of wrapping furniture. Thank you!!!

Unprofessional and unresponsive. I called, spoke with Sean who answered the phone. Asked me to email some info about my move, and he'd get back to me. He never did. It was a long weekend coming up, and he said they were all taking the weekend off, so I waited. But he never responded. I wasted days on this company, at a very stressful time when every day counts, trying to iron out all the logistics and coordinate buildings, reserving elevators, etc etc. I would never recommend this company. And $258.50 for 3 men, one truck, no fixed-guaranteed price, is exorbitant compared to the competition. Look elsewhere.

This was our 2nd time using Ellis Moving & Storage. Shawn from Dispatch was very responsive to our questions. We were initially concerned with the move as we had just finished our new deck. However, Bernard was very careful and efficient in managing the move with his team (AJ and Enrique) in ensuring our new deck was protected. Overall, we were very pleased with Ellis' services.

Our move from Vancouver to Atlanta, Georgia was emotional for us. Victims of the vacancy tax, we had intended to spend part of our retirement years in Vancouver for years to come. But the tax forced us to move. Ellis Moving eased the emotion of the move for us. They were not just professional, but also supportive and understanding. They quickly answered our questions and put us at ease. They delivered a high level of service and made this difficult circumstance as easy as possible.

We had a three phase complicated move which was executed to perfection. Leaving our home of 30 years was daunting but Ellis Moving provided valuable advice and information to help us prepare. The dispatchers were efficient and were able to be flexible with some last minute date changes. The first of two moving days introduced us to their amazing moving crew who had great communication and fabulous service. It was a long but very successful day. The second moving day returned our crew for additional packing service (done efficiently and with great care) of remaining items for long term storage, packing and moving other items for short term storage, as well as packing and moving items including my piano to our daughter‘a house in North Vancouver. In fact, my initial selection of Ellis Moving was based on their piano moving expertise. All three phases were completed perfectly. I strongly recommend this company for it’s professional service and outstanding experience. I am also particularly happy that it is a locally owned business. Ellis Moving made my move easier and for that I am grateful.
