Great place to hike around fall, not much bugs. Long, but steady trail. Gets harder at the end though. Takes the whole day to climb, so plan accordingly.

The parking lot isn't maintained off-season, and my car got stuck in the snow. After I got it out woth help, i had to turn back after about 20 minutes (headed to Landslide Lake) because it was obvious nobody had hiked it recently so could no longer see where the path was due to snowfall. Shame, sure it's a beautiful walk... Soon, in the spring/summertime!

Great hike, does need more parking spaces. There were lots of people stuck parking on the side of the busy highway and getting ready there to start their hike. Carpool if you can!

The hike is long but easy for a fit person. The view of Colonol Foster was amazing and the lake was cool and refreshing. Well worth the effort to get there. Took us 7hrs return. Approx 22km.

A great overnight or long day hike. It's not too technical of a trail either, compared to some in Strathcona park. You will see some beautiful peaks and lots of waterfalls. There are a couple creek crossings though, so be aware after heavy rain or snow melt.

Fantastic hike. We took three days total since we started late in the afternoon on Friday, but it can easily be done in two, or even as a single day hike with a quicker pace. The whole hike to Landslide Lake is roughly 11km, gradually increasing in elevation the whole way. After taking a break at the lake, we decided to make the extra push to Berg Lake, which is an additional 45 minutes past Landslide Lake. This part of the trail is definitely more technical, but it paid off as Berg Lake is stunning, and it overlooks Landslide.

Fantastic hike. Landslide Lake boasts dramatic evidence of the 1946 earthquake, hence the name. Berg lake is a 45 minute hike beyond Landslide. Worth the extra effort as it lies at the foot of Mount Colonel Foster, the Island's 4th tallest peak at 2,135M.

It's a beautiful drive along the very curvaceous Gold River hwy from.Campbell River. It's a 9km hike to the nicer camp ground. Then about a 3km hike to landslide lake. Where there is many Rainbow Trout jumping. We brought our fishing tids and a couple silver fox spinners and my first catch I caught a keeper. We kept a few for dinner. It isnt overly tough of a hike if you aren't packing 65 extra pounds of gear. My gf and I spent 2 nights. The day we packed out we came up on a very healthy Cougar and we kept our distance and watched for it. I didnt feel unsafe the cat was healthy. It was a great hike and a great time. Very nice country and beautiful view of Colonel Foster which has a longer face then El Capitan in Yosemite Park.
