He always kept me entertained and I wanted to learn more. Troy helped me understand what parts of my writing can be improved. He went through a step by step process to help me fix my mistakes. He provided many good writing techniques that weren’t taught in school.

I have decided to take classes with Troy after reading all these reviews about his outstanding teaching competence and experience preparing students for English exams. I couldn't find a better tutor! I had two months to improve the skills which were my weakest, Reading and Writing, and to get a 7.5 overall band. Definitely, it was my best choice since I got an 8.0 overall band!! I am pregnant and have a full time job, so I had limited time for preparing but Troy guided me perfectly! He w encouraged me to practise continuously all the skills and offered me additional material! He is also fun, patient, punctual and flexible regarding dates and hours (if his calendar allows him ;)) I strongly recommend! Thanks a lot Troy for what you did for me and special thanks for those chocolates and carrots :) you are my teacher for ever!!!

My daughter signed up to be tutored for English-20 during regular grade 11 school year as well as English-30 during CBE summer school. English-30 is a mandatory course for university applications and my daughter wanted to raise her English grade to get into a highly competitive university program. She communicated that to him at the start of the engagement. That is exactly what he helped her with. He is very grade/goal oriented and very experienced in Shakespeare's work which is a huge chunk of high school English in AB. He gave her a lot of practice essays for English comprehension which was very helpful. He worked with her in-person as well as remotely through the pandemic. He also accommodated her last minute requests for a lesson whenever needed. My daughter improved her grade by 15% from English-10 to 30 and her final mark was in the 90s! Overall, I highly recommend his services for kids that are looking to improve their English grade to match their Math and Science grade :) The only drawback might be his tuition fee rate. It helped us to go to him through a reference because he offers a discount when you have a reference :) Also make sure your child is well prepared before they see him so that the time spent with him is well worth the $/hr that you are going to spend.

I loved the way he communicate with me and work out different times according to my class schedules. One of the things I noticed from Troy is his empathy towards non native speakers and he’s able to understand their struggles. He kept pushing me to do reading comprehensions to practice and get new vocabulary in really helped me. Every class that I've had with him made me learn something new about this subject that I was never good at. He is easily one of the best English teachers that I ever had as not only the classes were fun and interesting but most importantly it made me develop necessary skills for English.
