EID Historical Park - Scandia
A chuckwagon is ready for the round up in the fall, all that is needed is a good cook to go along! There are also some sheep camps on wheels where the sheep herders would live for many months. The first fire truck belonging to the Scandia fire department has a place of honour here as do model T’s and a lots of settlers wagons.
Farm machinery is an important part of the museum, as equipment was needed to first break the farm and land. There are many different kinds of machinery to see, and for anyone who likes John Deere tractors the grounds are a parking lot for a number of restored ones which are in running condition.
The ferry that was once used to cross the bull river between rolling Hills and Hayes is now in “dry dock” in the park. It was used for many years until a one lane bridge was constructed.
