★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Generally a good place to bring extra garbage. The rating reflects the poor behavior I've experienced several times from the same person. The woman who works the inbound lane on weekday mornings is a snarky and condescending person who uses her position to impose some measure of control over her otherwise pathetic life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have in general had little to complain about at the City Dump, as a general rule it is not too lined up, except in the springtime it can get fairly busy. You will need Google to find this place if you have never been to Aurum Road. The gate staff are pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The only complaint I have is the amount the City charges to dispose of a mattress, it is excessive IMHO. As a General rule it is a quick, painless and pleasant experience. The transfer station is always clean and I find staff to be helpful. I have never felt their charges for yard cleanup to be too high, except mattresses, you will definitely need your bank card for them. I find it to be quicker to drive to the dump and get rid of everything rather than wait an hour in a line-up at a Eco-station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The contractor paint disposal and recycling program is run by the Alberta Government through the City of Edmonton site. Calling the City to find out the hours is useless, as the Waste Management department simply tells me that it is an Alberta Government program DESPITE the fact that I need to drop my paint at a City site. You cannot make this up. Furthermore, the hours for the drop-off are 9am - 2pm on one Thursday afternoon per month. Can anyone guess what a contractor is doing between 9am and 2pm on a weekday? Probably working at a productive job... not wanting to drive 12km out of the city to drop off waste, thereby making an unproductive day. But I would not expect a civic worker to understand this concept.
