I went to Edmonton Academy for grades 11 and 12 and graduated in 2005. Loved my experience there. The teachers were amazing and did a very good job helping out students with different learning needs. Great accommodations. Was a very good experience for me. I would highly recommend this school!

I attended Edmonton Academy from grade 8 onwards, until I graduated in 2005. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The teachers and staff there bent over backwards to help the students with any struggles they had and provide the best education possible. Keep in mind this is a very small school, it might not have a ton of fancy option classes, but if you are struggling there is no better place to be in my opinion. I honestly don't think I would have survived in a public school and am so grateful for the experience I had there. Also, it was one of the teachers at this school that helped me discover my passion for poetry and told me not to stop writing. To this very day I am still writing and even had the opportunity to read at the Edmonton Poetry Festival a couple of times. Without the unrivaled dedication and effort of all the teachers and staff of Edmonton Academy to create an inclusive specialized learning environment, I doubt I would have finished high school.

I will always be grateful to the teachers and principals at Edmonton Academy for their dedication to the students. I credit the staff of Edmonton Academy for my daughter's success and love of learning. After attending Edmonton Academy she went on to obtain a university degree and is now thinking about a second university degree. I honestly believe if I had not enrolled my daughter at Edmonton Academy she would have been a high school drop out . I highly recommend Edmonton Academy !

I personally attended Edmonton Academy for 5 years. I ended up graduating from this school. Without EA helping to not only raise my grades but also my self-confidence and self-esteem I truly believe I would not be here today. I switched from public school with 35 kids in a class to this school with three to ten kids in a class. The staff truly cares for each child’s needs. They understand that each child learns differently. I am a visual learner and my education was adapted for me. I was shown how to do things instead of zoning out while a teacher drones on about whatever they were lecturing about. They made me feel like I was important and that people truly cared for me. I highly recommend this school for anyone dealing with issues in grade school. It was a huge part in shaping who I am today. In my personal opinion, it was worth every single cent that was spent to send me there.

I was in Edmonton Academy for 7 years. Before that I was at a school where teachers couldn’t give me a second of their time to help me a little more than everyone else. When I came to Edmonton Academy I wasn’t all too familiar with meeting new people and trusting new faces. But the second day of school I remember laughing with new kids and finally excited for school, because I finally understood how to do my assignments. I felt welcomed by my teachers, they go above and beyond to make sure that you are doing okay and to make sure you understand the work completely. I graduated 3 years ago and I’m still in touch with my classmates and favourite teachers. I’m so thankful for EA.

i attended Edmonton academy for 4 years and my little brother attended for 9 so i spent pretty much my entire teenage years around the staff of Edmonton academy. this school was so much more to me than ill ever be able to explain. during my teen years Edmonton academy was my home and family. when i first arrived i was in the middle of beginning the process of dropping out of school completely. i had failed every grade before and somehow was never kept back but suffered from being in classes of 30 where i was never given the time to catch up. to put this into perspective my graduating class at Edmonton academy was 11 people. every day i had one on one teaching in every single subject and suddenly became a honour student with more confidence in myself than ever. not only did i get the support i always needed in my academics i also had multiple teachers i trusted to go to with anything and everything, they ALWAYS had my back. I'm still in contact with many of my teachers from EA and could never imagine a life without them in it. i will never be able to thank this school for everything it has done for me but I'm proud to say at 22 years old i now have a high stress job that i would have never been capable of doing before EA, and I'm happier than ever. I am the woman i am today because of this school and the amazing staff.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD and a learning disability in reading and writing in grade 2. For grade 3 we decided to come to Edmonton Academy. We have not been disappointed. The teachers are so caring and thoughtful. The classes are small. Classes can be up to 12 students, but for math and English it is a max of 6 students. My son has a special LA class that he attends to help strengthen his reading and writing. They give him the supports he needs to learn and best of all he loves being in Edmonton Academy. When I say someday we might switch back to public school, he just says β€œNo, I am staying here”. I would highly recommend Edmonton Academy!

I started Edmonton Academy in Grade 10. In late elementary and junior high I started to hate school. Teachers never had enough time to sit with me and help me understand. This then led me to bad grades and being disruptive in class. Edmonton Academy helped change my view of education. I went from failing to honours in most classes and started to actually enjoy school again. The small class sizes were really helpful which allowed the teachers more time to support each student. The teachers were wonderful and very supportive. They always taught subjects in a variety of ways to ensure all the students could learn the material in a way that best suited their learning style. I honestly believe that if I did not go to Edmonton Academy I would have never graduated high school. I can now say I have a diploma and a degree from Grant MacEwan.
