If I could give a lower rating I would... I called a week in advance.. booked them for today at 10 am. I called to confirm.. they said that they didnt have us booked and that all were dispatched already. We had to be moved TODAY! Never would recommend these guys totally unprofessional and unreliable. And when I called back when they asked me to they flat out ignored my call. Terrible terrible company.

I unfortunately hired Economy Movers in Surrey B.C. for a move on Feb. 15/2021 over the phone/internet. I advised them (Paul) of most of the items to be moved. He quoted me an hourly price, and after asking him if this move was booked and CONFIRMED, he emailed me back and said YES. I expressly asked more than once, if the movers would have furniture pads, tape, dollies and shrink-wrap, as some furniture pieces would need to be padded, then shrink-wrapped, or taped. He ensured me that they would have ALL the necessary items. As I booked this move 9 days in advance, I assumed there would be no problems with them showing up on time....... I WAS WRONG ! Upon phoning them (Satpal Bains) at their promised arrival time, I was informed that he had received no emails or instructions to move me. ??? He then said he would be at my home at some time in the near future. Well.....after SEVERAL phone calls, and (re)informing him of my address and destination, he said he would arrive ASAP. Then.... after nearly 5 hours after they had promised to be there, they arrived. The back of the truck was locked, and they had no key. I had to supply tools for them to break the lock. GREAT START ! Albeit without pads or dollies. I asked why these things were not present...all I got were shrugs. One of the movers used a dirty wheelbarrow from the side of my house to transport unprotected furniture and boxes to their truck. It was raining slightly and the ground was wet, but to my dismay, I witnessed my mattress, box spring and other stuff placed and dragged on the wet ground and onto the truck. PART TWO...UNLOADING. The owner of my new house asked that they wear "booties" (which he supplied) when in the house. The driver Satpal said it was against WCB rules to wear them....I'm not sure about that. Anyways...as unloading started I told the movers where to place furniture and boxes. This only worked when I was watching them eagle-eyed. Otherwise, even after several requests to put items where I told them to... they simply piled everything wherever they pleased, and grumbled when I told them that they put something in the wrong spot...AGAIN. As I am physically disabled I didn't want to have to drag heavy furniture around afterwards. But I surely did. I wanted furniture against the walls, with boxes in front, so I could more easily unpack the boxes without moving furniture around. This didn't happen, and I struggled for 3 days to undo the mess they left behind. Almost finished unloading, the box spring and mattress were left in the adjacent garage. When I asked one of them to bring the pieces into my suite, I was met with a dirty look and grumbling. Rather than taking it into the bedroom, as I initially asked, the pieces were just piled in the middle of the living-room. In the next couple of days I noticed scratches and scuffs on several pieces. ALSO, upon unpacking I found a fairly expensive bottle of cologne missing from the top drawer of my heavy dresser (yes, I looked for it VERY thoroughly), which probably was opened by the movers to get a better grip on it when moving it. In closing....I have hired movers several times over the last 10 years, and I can confidently say that the workers sent to me by Economy Movers in Surrey are hands-down the worst I've ever had.
