What inspired then, as today, was the sense of community that I felt, one which values inclusivity, supportiveness and great fun on a Monday evening after work. For me, it is this kind of environment that encourages me to step outside my comfort zone and work on my public speaking and leadership skills. And the knowledge I have gained through stories, perspectives and feedback during each meeting has made me feel more and more "Earth Aware". Join us one Monday, see if it's for you. I promise, you will want to come back!

If you've never been to a toastmasters meeting before I recommend that you check out this one. You will be pleasantly surprised and have such a great time!!! (this happened to me!)

I was amazed at the level of professionalism the club members demonstrated in their speeches and interactions with one another. I enjoy challenging myself and others during each meeting. Before attending the very first meeting of the club, I searched online for quite a few hours and found this club's Facebook page where I saw videos of speakers skillfully telling their stories. I was inspired. More important, after attending four meetings, I have noticed a significant change in my public speaking skills. I used to dislike talking about my stories and experiences. I have noticed that I am more confident and comfortable talking about myself. I do admit that I have a lot of reasons for joining this club, such as improving my skills to answer impromptu questions. However, I also have had some unexpectedly good outcomes resulted from joining, one of them being me gaining a sense of community with my fellow Toastmasters in this club.

Also in my confidence on stage and in my delivery during impromptu speaking (this was definitely a challenge at first). I joined this club for the members, location, and meeting day/time. The members are nice, welcoming and advanced speakers, I knew I could learn from them. This club is a family - we all motivate, encourage and challenge each other to keep getting better at our personal goals. The location is close to transit (also in a spacious big room) and if you work a 9-5, the meeting will fit into your schedule. All in all, I remember being so afraid to show up that very first meeting but I am so glad that I did. I recommend, you do the same!
