Is a beautiful house, but it's a private residence of the British high commission. if they ever have an open house, check it out.. gorgeous!!

I visited for Doors Open Ottawa, and I had such a great experience. The residence itself was gorgeous--as was the garden space--but the real highlight was meeting the British High Commissioner. She was so friendly and welcoming, and her staff were lovely enough to offer visitors lemonade and ice cream. I will always cherish the memory.

Stately residence of the British High Commissioner. This building is very well maintained. It was once the residence of John A. Macdonald the first Prime Minister of Canada. The view from the dining room overlooking the Ottawa River is to die for - on that topic John A. died on the second floor. The current residents have displayed many unique artworks which lend some modernism to the rooms. The grounds are amazing, they must have a very talented Gardener.

Perhaps one day I will be in Ottawa during it's Doors Open Ottawa and can visit this long-coveted home. Please let me know if it is ever for sale or if 110 Sussex Drive ever is. Imagine being one of 2 exclusive homes overlooking the Kitchissippi River (Ottawa River - Rivière des Outaouais). I would welcome being invited for a swim.

We were there during open doors Ottawa event and we met with the High Commissioner of UK ?? in Canada ??. We visited his residence and enjoyed snacks and drinks while listening to the live music ?

Went for Doors Open. Not terribly interesting compared to Laurier House, the Mackenzie King Estate or Rideau Hall, but neat to see the room where Sir John A. died, the dining room and the grounds given the site is usually closed to the public.

Beautiful! Really well done for Doors Open Ottawa and the Queen's Jubilee. Welcomed by the High Commissioner and thanked her for her hospitality and for the band playing music from hits from my youth. She laughed and also commented they were from her youth as well and we both agreed that they were great! Excellent nummies were sampled & sipped and the interior of the home itself is historic and stunning!
