★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are in serious urgent need of housing or hotel program for a family with children dont bother coming here for help, unless you are abused they wont help you. I know people that live in Co-ops and knew their ex husband was abusive before they had children and they still stayed with them, the mom to this day does not work and is overhoused in a CO-OP in Whitby by herself but continues to lie saying her children live there and has another person living with her which she shouldnt and nothing is done. The systems gives single moms with no children 3 bedroom townhouses and yet leaves actual families left to stay in housing or live with family that they shouldnt have to. System is very very broken that is for sure!

An see no light at the end of the tunnel .
Housing should be a 30/70 split on units .
Not 1% non priority and 99% priority .
Too many are crying wolf about a spouse in order to get a unit , the workers in these hostel know how to manipulate the paper work to fast track them , only to have that so called abusive partiner move in with them shortly after .
Very sad .

Within 1 hour my call was returned.
Within 30 minutes I was expressing interest
for 2 apts.
I have yet to be accepted but am impressed with the assistance I received.
Helpful, courteous is my takeaway

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The system is broken but the staff are as helpful as they can be. The staff has no control over the policies, this is municipal/provincial government leadership accountability. It's the government's responsibility to amend policies that are not working and any flaws that hinder successful housing placements or offers. The staff are friendly and professional, and their assistance is much appreciated. Thank you
