★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Haven't gone in 20 years and when we finally had a chance to go, I was hoping to get the same outstanding food and service that they were known for. It was exactly what I remember but a whole lot better. Food was outstanding and service was top notch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not use. Multiple errors on my tax returns, and I haven't received one of the returns back yet. I caught one large error when picking up my completed taxes. They told me it could not be an error as their system was very good. After verifying they said "Sorry, it was input wrong". Now I found out that I have 2 errors on my Provincial forms, and they only respond with "Sorry at least you don't have to pay". I don't have to pay a penalty because one of their errors meant I overpaid! I brought their paperwork back to show the errors, only to have the owner say sorry, turn his back, and walk away. Terrible customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my spot many years ago and I found myself close by and so I went for the lunch special. The food was still familiar to my tastebuds which I appreciated and the quiet movement of the waitstaff was welcoming. I found it a bit more pricier than I remembered but that's inflation for you.

I came again to my favorite spot to eat and I was completely appalled by the reception I received. I tried to open the door and it was locked and when I checked it was a couple minutes before opening time. A woman came to the door and asked what I wanted. I was taken aback but I said I saw your not open as yet as I tried to find my phone to check the time. She said no. I waited till it was time then I went in. I was planning on getting takeout as I don't have much time and asked for the menu. She offhandedly gestured to the pile on menus on the counter. I then told her I didn't like the way she was speaking to me, the phone rang, effectively cutting the conversation and she shouted to me that she never spoke to me. I'm quite dismayed with this behavior as I've never seen anyone of the servers speak above a whisper. In conclusion La parle is now on my boycott list sadly but it shows more and more how restaurants dont value in store customers as they once did. It's really sad but on the bright side, at least I saved myself almost 15$ for lunch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ best "à la carte" chinese sichuan option in the west island. a bit pricey but you get quality food as much as you want plus an incredible oolong tea. great to go with a group. i recommend the sichuan shrimps,the satay skewers, the general tao and the hunan dumplings. very scrumptious.
