About Me
Dr. Laurel Smith was raised in Trochu, Alberta and started her post-secondary career at Red Deer College. She received a BSc from the University of Alberta and continued at the same for her MD and her residency in ObGyn. Her practice has seen her in a number of interesting places from California to Nova Scotia before settling close to home in Drumheller in 2012.
Dr. Smith is passionate about continued learning and avidly attends educational sessions related to women's health as both a student and instructor.
When Dr. Smith isn't in the clinic or hospital she enjoys the outdoors. She can often be found on the trails and hills of the Dinosaur Valley with her canine companion or occasionally camping in the mountains or foothills of our beautiful province. She developed a love of travel at an early age and tries to experience different cultures as often as possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I despise this place, wait times for walk in are and they wont give you any info what so ever on an estimated time or the amount of people in front of you. The front staff isnt as profssional as they should be. We have gone there quite a few times and have barely ever saw a doctor, tried making appointments but have always been told to call someone else. They messed up on my husbands file saying that he was an 84 year old man, hes 32. They have also forgot that we were even there and passes right over us. The one doctor i did see, dr. Smith, was very nice and i liked her alot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After saying yes to the “feeling nauseous” question for covid screening I was made to wait in my car for an hour. Then had to go in the back door, only to wait 2 more hours for a nurse to tell the doctor I was there. Dr.Chetty was as annoyed as I was. The people working today were all super incompetent. I wasn’t even sure if my doctor visit was done so I grabbed my papers off the desk and put my coat on and left. Apparently they stop work at noon on fridays. Total joke of a clinic, go see the guy across the parking lot. The majority of nurses working at the associated physicians of Drumheller are completely useless. And I mean that in the nicest way. Also thanks Dr.Chetty for letting me go pee after 3 hours of waiting.
