I went in to see him regarding my sons tongue tie only to leave feeling like a bad parent for even thinking it needed to be done. I will never allow him to do any operations on my children. Nor would I go back to see him.

My friend has been seeing him for years and he finally referred my friend to a different doctor because he wasn't solving the issue that had been going on for over 5 months (my friend had to insist that the issue get attention before Dr. Atchem provided the referral....otherwise he would have just left it unresolved as he'd done in the past). I'm honestly shocked that his rating isn't lower. See someone else if you can. Update: Due to Dr. Atchem's actions my friend has lost hearing in one ear. Do not see this doctor.
P	Pam Brunton on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am surprised by the reviews I am reading here. I find Dr. Achtem to be thorough, patient and easy to talk to. I always have many questions and need further clarification and he is great at explaining things to me in common, easy to understand, ways. He performed a minor procedure at KGH and was professional there as well.

I also believe that while he did address some issues around allergens; he did not address our day to day main concern. He suggested that an optimal visit would be with a healthy patient and yet another appointment was not offered. Although much of what he said I can understand and respect with regards to his "work ethic", my concern is that he jumped rather quickly to or had preconceived notions about our actual concerns and intentions of the visit being more to do with looks rather than function.
S	Sam Sam on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dismissive, judgmental and completely discouraging, I hope he reads these reviews so he can see a psychologist or at least a life-coach to start making some personality changes. I'm incredibly disappointed by the lack of mutual care and respect which I receive from all of my other doctors. He should learn a thing or two about his secretary which is wonderful and the only saving grace from this office.

If I come in for a nose surgery checkup but mention my ear is irritating me and it's unrelated, he still begins investigating the problem immediately and offers me help, advice or treatment. It could be something surgeon's would consider a menial task but rather than send me to a walk in clinic or a family doctor he alleviates the issue on the spot and never let's a patients quality of life be brought down in the slightest. He always goes above and beyond "treatment" or "work", as a patient I really feel like to him his job is a career that he has dedicated his life to and patient happiness feels truly valuable to him.
