★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found this wonderful little riverside park by accident just looking for a place to stop and eat our lunch. You don't even feel like you are in the city down here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This remains one of my favourite spots in Calgary. It's not yet as busy as some of the other well known spots which makes it more of a peaceful bird-watching destination. People are not always respectful here; and I wish humans could allow animals some peace.
I have taken thousands of pictures here (long lense so at a distance always) & spent many, many hundreds of hours here walking and meditating.
Please understand that playing music loudly in this area is very disruptive to the wildlife. Take some time to breathe & be quiet; allow other people to enjoy this space without all the noise we get everywhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The path is at water level, right next to the river. It is an 'immersive" experience. Lots of wildlife, including pheasants, bald eagles and deer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are so fortunate to have such raw beauty right at our doorstep. The river and natural wildlife here are as diverse as they are beautiful.
There are pelicans, cranes, deer and many other animals that wander around here with little fear of being harmed. There is even a beaver that is always working on his dam. He has necessitated wire fencing around most of the trees so that he doesn't cut them all down! He must be one busy beaver!
There is a single pathway for both bicycles and pedestrians so be aware while you are on the path. It would be nice if there were some benches along the water to sit and take in the incredible scenery.
It would be certainly dreamy to own a house backing on to this gorgeous park! One can dream for sure!
