Dorchester Union Cemetery

I will share my experience gladly. Our beloved Mother died a month ago and was buried in Dorchester Union Cemetery. I visit her grave every night as I am so extremely sad that she has gone. At first I thought this was a serene spot, with the beautiful solar lights and the quiet beauty. My opinion has changed drastically: I came to the cemetery tonight and EVERYTHING we put there for my Mom had been rudely removed, no concern for a dead person's loved one, the bereaved family and the small items of love that had been put there. We were looking for a stone, had for now put up some EXPENSIVE solar lights (that were allowed on the other graves!!!) and a candle that was always burning. Everybody who visited there said it was beautiful and it certainly gave us some comfort to see it. This woman was a much loved resident of Dorchester and now her last resting place has been VIOLATED!!! We pay such high taxes in this Village which we love, have lived here for many, many years and are so very disappointed now. Have any of you ever visited a cemetery in Europe??? You have missed a lot, they are such beautiful places, lovingly maintained, with many flowers and lots of space. Nobody needs a lawnmower, there is soil and bushes, it makes you feel that you are in a peaceful place. I now returned home and could only cry and cry, my world has been turned upside down. I am glad my poor Mother will not see this, and my hopes for creating a pretty place for her this summer have vanished. I hope that I will find our belongings, maybe in a trash pile (I searched the Internet and this is probably what happened). I have no more words for this, nobody told us or called us, they have broken my heart again, it wasn't enough I lost my mother, now I have lost faith in my beloved Town. Julie Piciga
