I didn't have the piece of machinery I needed and also wanted to do the ion myself. Donald was gracious enough to teach me how to accomplish my project and allowed me to complete it under his supervision in his studio. After having a quick conversation where he outlined his work and cost, I brought my two metal art pieces to him to be altered. He not only kept to his estimate, his work was impressive and completed much quicker than expected. For one piece, I needed him to reduce the height so it could fit in a tight space. The piece was expertly altered and looks like it was never touched. Now I get to walk into my office every day and see the piece which was given to me by my grandmother - something I can continue to cherish. For the other piece, a metal twig "forest" with candle holders, I needed him to use his artistic talent and reduce the width of the piece as well as move some of the candle holders to other "branches" and add one of the removed branches to another spot. The piece looks like it was never altered and it fits beautifully in my guest bathroom now. I love it! Apart from his stellar work, Donald was a pleasure to chat with. He is kind and thoughtful - I would highly recommend Donald for any metal work, anytime!

During the evening that we worked on a forging and machining project, I got to experience Donald's technical skill, creative thinking, and friendly co-operation. We went from never having worked together, to seamlessly working together heating, hammering and adjusting a workpiece that required quick discussion and action. Donald's communication and calm disposition made it a fun and effortless project. I needed some fine threads cut on my project, and Donald machined them just the right size on the lathe. Donald's shop is organized and clean, and Donald ensured that I wore the proper safety gear. Donald's enthusiasm for metal working, his transparent way of working with the student, his deep skill set, and his agreeable disposition make it easy for me to recommend taking his class.

Pricing was very fair, and communication was very consistent as Donald worked on our project.
