The proprietor is charming but it looks and tastes like he makes his wine behind the outhouse. To paraphrase Monty Python: β€œThis is not a winery for drinking -- this is a winery for laying down and avoiding.”

I purchased a bottle of his Raven Red for a great price. I took it to a wine party and put it in a paper bag as we were doing an unknown wine judging party. There were 9 people who brought different wines. Some very highly priced. They were all in bags and unknown. We poured a glass from each and all had the proper judging forms to fill out. Out of 9 wines that we tried I couldn't believe it the one I purchased from Devino Estate Winery WON!!

Property and staff a good 4 stars, however this review is only for the Cherry picking part, not the wines or vineyard which is great. The Cherries opened only a couple of days ago and most were bug ridden and gross. We tried to fill a bucket but couldn't, most were bad. We did have fun and the kids enjoyed it. It's worth the trip, but keep your expectations in check. The worker there was very nice. She did say the crop this year was poor.

Booked tickets for Cowichzn wine festival. Planned our trip to the Island and their schedule but they changed it. So we couldn't get in and messed up our passport to get all 12 wineries in. Not impressed.

Great wines, great chat with Carla A real, small, farmgate winery, one of the very first in BC. Congratulations to the Busnardos for staying true to the roots of the industry. Don’t expect a fancy tasting room and chi-chi bistro, just good honest farming and wine making, by the same family who started in 1979 in Oliver. Excellent prices and wonderful wines presented in an unpretentious setting! Refreshing!

This was our surprise favorite stop during the Cowichan Wine Festival! Carla (the daughter of the winemaker) was a down-to-earth delight and had many great stories to share about the wine, vines and history of the vineyard. If you're particular about having fancy wine experiences this might not be the place for you but we loved the "rough around the edges" Italian charm of this vineyard. All six of us touring and tasting bought many bottles of wine here! It's affordable great wine for everyone that won't break the bank :) We already loved drinking a few bottles around a campfire and on our patio during a nice summer's night. We will be back! Thanks Divino :)

You know how sometimes the sketchier-looking the Chinese food restaurant, the better the food is? I think the same is true of wineries. Divino is not some big operation that spends more on marketing than they do on wines like some other wineries in the area, it’s a simple affair with a real, old-world winemaker making simply fantastic wines. Our tasting was fantastic, and you can tell the owners have real passion for what they’re doing. And each wine has a story, some of them β€œaccidental”. Highly recommended, just be sure you take your time and understand this isn’t some polished professional operation, it’s a true winery run by real, passionate folks.
