★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome place to go for reasonably priced amethyst! Owner is super friendly and helpful. You can buy high end amethyst at tables, or venture out into rock piles and collect your own in buckets. Make sure you bring cash, they don't accept credit cards.

The pictures below were some of the pieces he had recovered from a recent expansion to the mining area.
To take full advantage of the we would recommend bringing along a hammer to do your own prospecting.
Also the pricing for the amethyst was great.
Highly recommend a stop here if you are in the area.
You get a 1 gallon or 2 gallon pale to fill with your own rocks for $15 / $25 respectively.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was an amazing couple hours with our 4&6 year olds. Bring closed toed shoes, eye protection (sunglasses will do), and you may want to bring a hammer/sledgehammer and gloves to crack open some big pieces in the piles. Great selection, not busy at all and the owner is very friendly and helpful!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place. Although we didn't get much amythest mainly due to time, it was still a super fun activity and the entire family really enjoyed it. The prices were also amazing compares to other places. Would recommend to bring gloves, eye protection, close toed shoes, and a hammer to break the rocks open.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found some Gorgeous amethysts here! When we pulled in, there was a sign at the entrance saying to look for the owner in the excavation mines. Upon finding him, he gave us a bucket and Allowed us to pick and chose our own rocks from the huge piles. We filled a 1/3 of a bucket for $10, and we found some gorgeous rocks! Will definitely come back when I’m in the area.
